Abstract:

Shape-selective methylation of naphthalene (NAPH) over SAPO-11 zeolite was carried out in a fixed-bed flow reactor under atmospheric pressure. Some zeolites, such as H-beta (Hβ), HUSY and ZSM-5 were also evaluated for comparison with SAPO-11 zeolite. The results showed that SAPO-11 exhibited higher stability, higher selectivity of  2,6-dimethylnaphthalene (2,6-DMN), and higher 2,6-/2,7-DMN ratio than Hβ, HUSY and ZSM-5. The improvement in catalytic performance of SAPO-11 is mainly attributed to the specific pore structure, weak acid strength and low acid amount on SAPO-11.

Effect of Feedstock and Catalyst Impurities on the Methanol‐to‐Olefin Reaction over H‐SAPO‐34

Operando UV/Vis spectroscopy with on-line mass spectrometry was used to study the effect of different types of impurities on the hydrocarbon pool species and the activity of H-SAPO-34 as a methanol-to-olefins (MTO) catalyst. Successive reaction cycles with different purity feedstocks were studied, with an intermittent regeneration step. The combined study of two distinct impurity types (i.e., f...

Preparation and characterization of template-free mordenite type zeolite and comparison of m-xylene isomerization reaction over mordenite and SAPO-11

In this work, Mordenite zeolite was successfully synthesized with Si/Al ratio of 18 in absence of organic template. The hydrothermal method was applied for synthesis under optimum conditions: 24 h synthesis time, 180°C temperature and 2 days aging time. The obtained zeolite was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), Fourier Trans...

Disproportionation of Ethylbenzene over Sapo-40

SAPO-40, a silicoaluminophosphate with a structure not topologically related with any aluminosilicate zeolite, was synthesised for the first time in 1984 by Lok and co-workers [1]. Recently, a synthesis procedure leading to pure SAPO40 was developed and the structure of this material was established by crystallographic methods. The framework topology (designated AFR by the International Zeolite...

Generation of diamondoid hydrocarbons as confined compounds in SAPO-34 catalyst in the conversion of methanol.

Formation of adamantane hydrocarbons and their confinement in SAPO-34 caused the long induction period and the quick catalyst deactivation in methanol conversion. Via ship-in-a-bottle synthesis, adamantane and methyladamantanes could be produced from methanol conversion in the cage of 8-ring SAPO catalysts under very mild reaction conditions.
