Abstract:

In the current study, non-Newtonian flow pattern and heat transfer in an enclosure containing a tilted square are examined. In order to numerically simulate the problem, the mesoscopic lattice Boltzmann method is utilized. The non-Newtonian Carreau-Yasuda model is employed. It is able to adequately handle the shear-thinning case. The simulation results of flow and heat transfer have been successfully verified with the previous studies. Several parameters such as Nusselt number, Drag coefficient, and Carreau number are investigated in details. Considering the temperature-dependent viscosity, it is seen that with increasing thetemperature-thinning index, the drag coefficient increases, but the Nusselt number decreases. By rotating the square obstacle, the results display that increasing the angle of inclination from zero to 45 degrees, increases both the drag coefficient and the Nusselt number. Also, the highest rate of heat transfer occur at the angle of 45 degrees (diamond); however it has a negative impact on the Drag coefficient.

Forced Convective Heat Transfer in Boundary Layer Flow of Sisko Fluid over a Nonlinear Stretching Sheet

The major focus of this article is to analyze the forced convective heat transfer in a steady boundary layer flow of Sisko fluid over a nonlinear stretching sheet. Two cases are studied, namely (i) the sheet with variable temperature (PST case) and (ii) the sheet with variable heat flux (PHF case). The heat transfer aspects are investigated for both integer and non-integer values of the power-l...

Free Convective Heat Transfer of Mhd Dissipative Carreau Nanofluid Flow over a Stretching Sheet

Nowadays external magnetic fields are capable of setting the thermal and physical properties of magnetic-nanofluids and regulate the flow and heat transfer characteristics. The strength of the applied magnetic field affects the thermal conductivity of magnetic nanofluids and makes it aeolotropic. With this incentive, we investigate the flow and heat transfer of electrically conducting liquid fi...

Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer of Nanofluids over a Flat Plate with Conjugate Heat Transfer

The falling and settling of solid particles in gases and liquids is a natural phenomenon happens in many industrial processes. This phenomenon has altered pure forced convection to a combination of heat conduction and heat convection in a flow over a plate. In this paper, the coupling of conduction (inside the plate) and forced convection of a non-homogeneous nanofluid flow (over a flat plate) ...

Influence of Temperature-dependent Viscosity on the Mhd Couette Flow of Dusty Fluid with Heat Transfer

This paper studies the effect of variable viscosity on the transient Couette flow of dusty fluid with heat transfer between parallel plates. The fluid is acted upon by a constant pressure gradient and an external uniform magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the plates. The parallel plates are assumed to be porous and subjected to a uniform suction from above and injection from below. The ...

Unsteady convective flow for MHD powell-eyring fluid over inclined permeable surface

The current article has investigated unsteady convective flow for MHD non-Newtonian Powell-Eyring fluid embedded porous medium over inclined permeable stretching sheet. We have pondered the thermophoresis parameter, chemical reaction, variable thermal conductivity, Brownian motion, variable heat source and variable thermal radiation in temperature and concentration profiles. Using similar trans...

Simulation of Heat and Chemical Reactions on Peristaltic Flow of a Williamson Fluid in an Inclined Asymmetric Channel

This work concerns the peristaltic flow of a Williamson fluid model in an inclined asymmetric channel under combined effects of heat and mass transfer. The governing nonlinear partial differential equations are simplified under the lubrication approach and then solved analytically and numerically. The analytical results are computed with the help of regular perturbation and the numerical re...
