Abstract:

مننژیت ویروسی را غالبأ مننژیت غیر عفونی می نامند. مننژیت ویروسی به وسیله ویروسهای مختلفی ایجاد می شود. بعضی از آنها از طریق عطسه، سرفه یا وضعیت های بهداشتی نامناسب به وجود می آیند. سایر موارد آن، از جمله ویروس کوکساکی در فاضلاب آلوده پیدا می شود. مننژیت ویروسی با شروع ناگهانی تب و علایم و نشانه های درگیری مننژ مانند سر درد و سفتی گردن مشخص می گردد. فتوفوبی نیز از نشانه های معمول آن بوده و ممکن است درجاتی از خواب آلودگی نیز وجود داشته باشد. این عفونت معمولا خود محدود شونده بوده و در مان آن بر روی تسکین نشانه و حفظ راحتی بیمار تمرکز دارد . بهبودی آن معمولا کامل است، اگر چه سر درد و خستگی ممکن است تا یک سال یا بیشتر نیز ادامه داشته باشد.

Neonatal meningococcal conjunctivitis associated with meningococcal meningitis.

Two infants are described in whom identical strains of meningococcus were isolated from both the eyes and the cerebrospinal fluid. This suggests that the eye may be a portal of entry in at least some cases of perinatally acquired neonatal meningococcal disease and has important implications for the management of purulent conjunctivitis in the newborn.
