Mechanical Synthesis of Zn-HKUST-1 Metal-Organic Framework and Investigation its Fluorescence Sensing Ability Toward to Detect Explosive-like Nitro aromatic Analytes Such as TNT
Authors
Abstract:
Metal-Organic Framework (MOFs) are new crystalline materials which because of having propertiessuch as high porosity, optical and electrical properties, etc., have been considered in areas such as gasstorage, catalysis, pollutants removal and so on. Therefore, in order to develop these compounds andtheir use in this study, in this work, Zn-HKUST-1 metal-organic framework was synthesized by fastand also environmentally friendly physical mixing (grinding by hand) method. To identify productsspectroscopy methods such as FT-IR and PXRD were employed. The sensing ability of this frameworkto detect explosive-like nitroaromatic analyets such as nitrobenzene, 1,3-dinitrobenzene and TNT wastested. The results showed that the sensitivity of Zn-HKUST-1 to TNT is more than two other analytesand this metal-organic framework can be effective in detecting explosives such as TNT. Alsoultrasound assisted synthesis (sonochemical) of this framework and effect of initial reagentsconcentration and power generating ultrasonic apparatus on the size and shape of the products wereinvestigated.

Preparation and Drug-Delivery Properties of Metal-Organic Framework HKUST-1
In this research, the metal-organic framework of HKUST-1 (Hong Koung University of Science and Technology) was synthesized for use in modern drug delivery systems by the thermal solvent method. It was activated in two conditions: under vacuum pressure and by a freeze-drying method. The synthesized HKUST-1 Metal-Organic Framework was analyzed by IR, XRD, BET, and SEM. In order to examine and com...
full textFixed distance photoinduced electron transfer between Fe and Zn porphyrins encapsulated within the Zn HKUST-1 metal organic framework.
An attractive strategy for the development of photocatalytic metal organic framework (MOF) materials is to co-encapsulate a photoactive electron donor with a catalytic electron acceptor within the MOF. Here we report the co-encapsulation of both Zn(ii) tetrakis(tetra 4-sulphonatophenyl)porphyrin (Zn4SP) and Fe(iii) tetrakis(tetra 4-sulphonatophenyl)porphyrin (Fe4SP) into an HKUST-1 (Zn) MOF and...
full textSynthesis of Nanoporous Metal Organic Framework MIL-53-Cu and Its Application for Gas Separation
MIL-53-Cu has been synthesized hydrothermally and has been used for the first time for gas separation. MIL-53-Cu shows adsorption capacities of 8.1, 0.7 and 0.5 m.mol/g, respectively, for CH4, CO2 and H2 at 30 bar and 298 K. The high CH4 adsorption capacity of MIL-53-Cu maybe attributed to the high pore volume and large number of open metal sites....

Photocatalytic degradation of toxic organic compound in water, soil and air by semiconductor catalysts such as TiO2 and ZnO have received much attention over the last two decades. However, the low quantum yield, easy agglomeration and difficult post-separation of these inorganic catalysts limit their application for large-scale applications. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are the latest class ...

full textKinetics of degradation of sulfur mustard and sarin simulants on HKUST-1 metal organic framework.
The applicability of HKUST-1 for the degradation of sulfur mustard and sarin simulants was studied with and without coadsorbed water. Degradation was found to be via hydrolysis and dependent on the nucleophilic substitution reaction, vapour pressure and molecular diameter of the toxicants.
