Abstract:

In recent years, measuring and analyzing productivity changes is the main focus of variousresearches who study performance of organizations. All through widespread application ofMalmquist Productivity Index, different types of data should be considered thoroughly, otherwise any defective study of the related data and deciding factors may yield poor results.Practical Malmquist Productivity Index (PMPI) models, presented in this research, arefundamentally capable of measuring the productivity of units in a competitive atmosphere, along with the hidden economic indexes such as time value of money, amortization andpromoted skills of employees. Also these models would provide the productivity comparisonover different periods of time. Moreover, these models are reliable as well as tangible forsuperior managers and it is noteworthy that they would offer significantly favorableconditions, lack of which may cause the unit under evaluation to face a great deal ofregression.

Malmquist Productivity Index for Multi Time Periods

The performance of a decision making unit (DMU) can be evaluated in either across-sectional or a time-series manner, and data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a useful method for both types of evaluation. The Malmquist productivity index (MPI) evaluates the change in efficiency of a DMU between two time periods. It is defined as the product of the Catch-up and Frontier-shift terms. In this pape...

Malmquist productivity index in several time periods

The Malmquist productivity index evaluates the productivity change of a decision making unit (DMU) between two time periods. In this current study, a method is proposed to compute the Malmquist productivity index in several time periods (from the first to the last periods) in data envelopment analysis (DEA) and then, the obtained Malmquist productivity index is compared with Malmquist produ...

Estimating Stochastic Malmquist Productivity Index

Nowadays the extent of productivity of Decision Making Units (DMUs) in future has a significant importance. One of the different types of calculating profitability of units is Malmq uist productivity index. All approaches presented so far calculate this index in present or past time using deterministic data. In this paper, a new approach based on DEA is presented for estimating Malmquist index ...

Global Malmquist Productivity Index Based on Preference Common-Weights

Data Envelopment Analysis is a linear programming technique for assessing the efficiency and productivity of decision making units (DMUs). Over the last decade, DEA has gained considerable attention as a managerial tool for measuring performance. The flexibility in selecting the weights in standard DEA models deters the comparison among DMUs on a common base. Moreover, these weights are unsuita...
