Life skills training on psychological well-being and psychological capital in nurses of Shahid Beheshti Hospital in Yasuj city

Objective: The nursing profession, due to being stressful, reduces psychological well-being and psychological capital. Life skills training as an educational method can improve general health and quality of life of nurses. This research was designed to assess the training of life skills on psychological well-being and psychological capital in nurses of Shahid Beheshti Hospital in Yasuj. Materials and Methods: This is a semi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test design with two experimental and control groups. The statistical population of this research included all female nurses of Shahid Beheshti Hospital in Yasuj. In this study, random sampling method was used for random sampling. A sample of female nurses was selected as sample (n = 70). Of these, by pair and person, the subjects were subjected to two experimental and control groups (each group of 35), in this way two groups were obtained equivalent to each other. For data collection and analysis, the Riff psychological well-being questionnaire and social capital standard questionnaire have been used. Results: The findings of this study showed that life skills training on psychological well-being and psychological capital was effective in nurses of Shahid Beheshti Hospital in Yasuj (p <0.05). Conclusion: Group life skills training can be effective in increasing psychological well-being, psychological capital, and nursing quality of life. Therefore, counselors and therapists, along with other methods, can use this method to increase psychological well-being, and psychological capital and quality of life.
