Abstract:

life history and population growth parameters of tyrophagus putrescentiae (acari: acaridae) on fusarium graminearum in laboratory conditions
the life history of an acarid mite, tyrophagus putrescentiae (schrank), on fusarium graminearum clade was investigated at 25 â± 1â°c, 60 â± 5% rh and a photoperiod of 16: 8 (l: d) h. incubation period for egg hatch, larval and nymphal periods and adult longevity were 2.22 â± 0.06, 3.46 â± 0.12, 4.84 â± 0.16 and 10.05 â± 0.9 days, respectively. the average life span of males and females were 22....
full textFeeding Patterns of Tyrophagus putrescentiae (Sarcoptiformes: Acaridae) Indicate That Mycophagy Is Not a Single and Homogeneous Category of Nutritional Biology
Mycophagy should not be considered as a single and homogeneous category of nutritional biology due to the specific symbiotic chitinolytic bacteria associated with mites and fungi. To test interaction among mites, fungi, and chitinolytic bacteria, experiments were conducted on the model species Tyrophagus putrescentiae (Schrank). Mucor sp, Alternaria alternata, Penicillium claviforme, P. griseof...
full textShift of Bacterial Community in Synanthropic Mite Tyrophagus putrescentiae Induced by Fusarium Fungal Diet
BACKGROUND Tyrophagus putrescentiae (Acari: Astigmata) and Fusarium sp. co-occur in poorly managed grain. In a laboratory experiment, mite grazing resulted in significant reduction of fungal mycelium on cultivation plates. The destruction of mycelium appeared to be a result of an interaction between the mites, fungi and associated bacteria. METHODOLOGY AND PRINCIPAL FINDINGS A laboratory expe...
full textEffect of different diets on Tyrophagus putrescentiae population and amelioration of their immunological disorder by garlic.
BACKGROUND The storage mite, Tyrophagus putrescentiae, detected in the samples collected from stored products and house dust, is one of the major causes of allergic disorders. OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to ameliorate the T. putrescentiae faeces allergic immunological disorder by garlic. METHODS Albino experimental rats were classified into control, inhaled and treated groups. M...

BACKGROUND Storage mites are a source of aeroallergens that affect patients with allergic rhinitis and asthma. Tyrophagus putrescentiae is a causative factor of airway hypersensitivity, but the mechanisms and pathogenesis of Tputrescentiae-induced allergy are not well understood. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to develop a murine model of T putrescentiae-induced allergic asthma. METHODS Immune ...
full textRAS2 regulates growth and pathogenesis in Fusarium graminearum.
Fusarium graminearum is a ubiquitous pathogen of cereal crops, including wheat, barley, and maize. Diseases caused by F. graminearum are of particular concern because harvested grains frequently are contaminated with harmful mycotoxins such as deoxynivalenol (DON). In this study, we explored the role of Ras GTPases in pathogenesis. The genome of F. graminearum contains two putative Ras GTPase-e...
