Endovascular laser treatment of incompetent saphenous veins using the 1470 nm diode laser and radial fiber

Objectives To assess the technical success, complications, and patients' quality of life (QoL) after treatment of chronic venous disease (CVD) using the 1470 nm radial fiber laser. Methods A total of 170 patients with chronic venous disease, classified as C2 to C4 according to CEAP classification, were treated for incompetent greater (GSV) and small (SSV) saphenous veins, using the 1470 nm ra...

Comparison of Bare-Tip and Radial Fiber in Endovenous Laser Ablation with 1470 nm Diode Laser.

OBJECTIVE Major side effects after endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) are pain and bruising. The aim of this study was to compare outcome and side effects after EVLA for primary varicose veins with 1470 nm diode laser using bare-tip orradial fiber. METHODS From October 2007 to December 2010, 385 patients (453 limbs) with primary varicose veins treated with 1470 nm laser were studied. Bare-tip f...

analysis of laser-fat interaction through comparing 980 nm diode laser with 1064 nm nd:yag laser

results the simulation results showed that the penetration depth and temperature rise of 980 nm wavelengths were different from those of 1064 nm wavelength. it appeared that 1064 nm wavelength penetrated to deeper layers of tissue compared with 980 nm. moreover, temperature rise during 1064 nm irradiation led to temperature increase in allowable ranges. the findings proved the reason why 1064 n...

First results with a new 1470-nm diode laser for endovenous ablation of incompetent saphenous veins.

INTRODUCTION Most of the published EVLA data concern 810, 940, 980 nm diode lasers and 1064 or 1320 nm Nd:Yag laser systems. Major side effects are postoperative pain and bruising. The aim of this study was to show the outcome one year after EVLA of incompetent saphenous veins with a 1470 nm Diode laser (Ceralas E, biolitec). PATIENTS AND METHOD Between December 2006 and February 2007, 134 sa...

Treatment of lentigines by a novel high power diode laser at 755 nm: a case report

The use of high-power diode laser with a wavelength of 755 nm is an effective and safe method for the correction and partial and/or total elimination of pigmented lesions, specifically solar lentigines. This wavelength has yet not been used in diode lasers to treat solar lentigines. Side effects are the usual ones, including darkening and scab formation. Our patient was a 40-year-old woman of C...
