Investigation of relationship between some biological characteristics of female broodstocks with hatching, survival and early growth in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) larvae
Authors
Abstract:
In regarding to study the effect of biological parameters of female rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) brood stocks on girt, 30 specimen of rainbow trout brood stocks were selected from 3 different age class (3, 4, 5 years). The results showed, maximum of girt 36.35± 0.35cm , ovary weight 600±11.25 gr, hatching 90±4 % and larvae weight after hatching 0.15±0.01 were in 5 and 3 years old brood stocks, respectively. The results showed significant differences between 3,4 and 5 years old brood stocks for this instances (P<0.05). Maximum of number of eggs in each gram 15±0. 26 Registered in 3 and 5 years old brood stocks, respectively. Maximum absolute fecundity, relative fecundity, and working fecundity were recorded in 4 and 3 years old brood stocks, respectively. The study pointed significant difference between investigated brood stocks (p<0.05). Maximum of larvae survival percentage were observed in 4 and 3 years old brood stocks, respectively. The results showed no significant difference between 5 and 3 years old brood stocks, but for 4 and 5 years old brood stocks was saw significant difference (P<0.05). Maximum of gonadosomatic index were observed in 5 and 3 years old brood stocks, respectively. Although gonadosomatic index between 4 and 5 years old fish showed no significant difference, but the study showed significant difference for 3 years old brood stocks (P<0.05).

Rainbow Trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss
Rainbow trout are classified as Oncorhynchus mykiss, and as such belong to the same genus as Pacific salmon, and to the family Salmonidae, which includes Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar), various trout (Salvelinus sp.), Arctic char (Salvelinus alpinus), Arctic grayling (Thymallus arcticus) and whitefish (Coregonus sp.). Rainbow trout are native to areas around the North Pacific Ocean, from souther...

The aim of the present study is to investigate the growth performance and sexual maturation process of female rainbow trout reared in a cage in the Caspian Sea (Mazandaran- Nowshahr). Rainbow trout with an average weight of 122± 5 g were stocked into a cage located in Caspian Sea. Fish were fed daily and random sampling was done monthly (January 2015) to May 2016. Weight and length of thirty fi...

15 صفحه اولSpinal deformities in triploid all-female rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
A batch of experimental rainbow trout was found to have a high level of spinal deformities. An equal deformity level was found in fish from the same batch, but reared at the fish farm from where the fry originated, suggesting that the all-female triploid status of the rainbow trout might account for the high level of deformity. Many factors being of physical, chemical, environmental or genetic ...
full textCreatine metabolism differs between mammals and rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
Creatine plays an important role in the cell as an energy buffer. As the energy system is a basic element of the organism it may possibly contribute to differences between rainbow trout strains selected for the traits growth and robustness, respectively. The cDNA sequences of creatine-related genes encoding glycine amidinotransferase (GATM), guanidinoacetate N-methyltransferase (GAMT), creatine...
full textGenetic parameters of growth in rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss, at early rearing stage
The heritability response for growth of rainbow trout during early developmental stages was detected on the basis of full-sib and half-sib cross between the selected lines. The experiment was done in Shahid Bahonar Salmon Propagation Center, Kelardasht, Iran. Breeders were taken from the stocks maintained in this station. A bifactorial cross was done between two line using four randomly sire an...
