Investigation of Nickle nanoclusters properties by density functional theory
Authors
Abstract:
Clusters play important role for understanding and transferring microscopic to macroscopic properties.Geometric and electron properties of Small nickel clusters up to the tetramer has been investigated by Density Functional Theory (DFT). Raising the number of nickel clusters atoms were indicated decreasing the average equilibrium (Ni-Ni) distance of atoms and also the binding energy of per atom were showed increasing trend. Ni-Ni binding energy diagram shows a linear behavior in terms of (n-1/3). It is correspond with the previous findings. During the process HOMO-LUMO gap energies reduce. The lowest HOMO-LUMO gap energy was related to Ni8 cluster, so it proves that the cluster is more reactive and less kinetic stability. The linear relationship between size of clusters (n-1/3) with some properties of clusters indicate that it can get these properties (X∞) and extrapolated to the mass of the material.

full textInvestigating the Effect of Fullerene (C20) Substitution on the Structural and Energetic Properties of Tetryl by Density Functional Theory
The substitution reaction of pure, silicon doped and germanium doped fullerenes and tetryl were evaluated computationally at two configurations, in this study. For this purpose, all of the studied structures were optimized geometrically and then IR and NBO calculations were performed on them in the temperature range of 300-400 K at 10˚ intervals. The obtained negative values of Gibbs free energ...
full textelectronic properties of titanium using density functional theory
in the present work, the electronic properties of titanium were studied in three phases of α, β and ω using the density function theory (dft). the full potential augmented plane wave plus local orbital (flapw+lo) method was applied using the generalized gradient approximation. the calculated total energies showed that omega phase was more stable than the two other phases. the largest electrical...
full textInvestigation of hydralazine drug adsorption on functionalized single-walled carbon nanotubes by density functional theory (DFT) method
Background: In recent years, advances in nanotechnology presents opportunities to overcome limitations in targeted drug delivery. Nano drug carriers have the ability to change the pharmacokinetics of drugs and can improve efficacy and reduce side effects. The objective of the present work is to study the interaction of Hydralazine with functionalized carbon nanotubes by performing density funct...
