Investigating spatial changes of soil moisture after heavy spring rains, Fars province

Authors

Abstract:

Soil moisture is an important variable in climatic, hydrological, and ecological systems that link atmospheric processes to the earth's surface. The rainfall systems of the water year 2017-2018 abnormally caused more than normal rainfall in Fars province and caused major changes in the surface moisture of the soil. The purpose of this research is to analyze the spatial changes of soil moisture before and after heavy spring rains in Fars province using Downscale RADAR images. Using the backscatter bands of VV and VH polarizations as well as the incident angle band (

Study of Temperature Changes in Fars Province

Climate change is a phenomenon has been based on the available evidence from a very long time ago and now its existence is very probable. The speed and nature of climate parameters changes at the middle of twentieth century has been different and its quickness more than the before and its trend changed to some extent comparing to the past. Climate change issue now regarded as not only one of th...

Spatial soil moisture scaling structure during Soil Moisture Experiment 2005

Soil moisture state and variability control many hydrological and ecological processes as well as exchanges of energy and water between the land surface and the atmosphere. However, its state and variability are poorly understood at spatial scales larger than the fields (i.e. 1 km2) as well as the ability to extrapolate field scale to larger spatial scales. This study investigates soil moisture...

investigating outdate spring migration among nomads of fars province

nomad’s livelihood is based on continuous migration between summer and winter pastures to obtain forage for their animals and access to contented weather. this living way has long history in iran which formed in accord with climate. in recent century, modernization has been caused many changes in traditional living way of nomads. therefore, nomads have no more their role and function as in th...

Scaled spatial variability of soil moisture fields

[1] This study identifies soil moisture spatial variability patterns using measurements across different extents (i.e., field, watershed, and basin) and depths (i.e., from surface to root zone profile) from 18 different soil moisture field experiments. The spatial variability patterns are well represented by negative exponential functions between the mean and the coefficient of variation of soi...

Spatial and Temporal Variability of Soil Moisture

The characterization of temporal and spatial variability of soil moisture is highly relevant for understanding the many hydrological processes, to model the processes better and to apply them to conservation planning. Considerable variability in space and time coupled with inadequate and uneven distribution of irrigation water results in uneven yield in an area Spatial and temporal variability ...
