Influence of heat treatment on synthesis of stoichiometric perovskite PbTiO3 nanostructure via hydrothermal method
Authors
Abstract:
In this research, the stoichiometric perovskite lead titanate (PbTiO3) nanostructurewas synthesized successfully by the hydrothermal method. The effect of heattreatment of the autoclave and the furnace on the structure of this materialwas investigated. Titanium dioxide (TiO2), titanium tetrachloride (TiCl4) and leadoxide (PbO), lead nitrate (Pb(NO3)2) were used as the titanium and lead sources, respectively. The negative amount of the Gibbs free energy shows the reactivityof the reaction at room temperature. Characterization of PbTiO3 was carried outusing scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The amount of lead titanate increased by raisingthe temperature of the autoclave. The objective of this research was developingthe hydrothermal method to produce the phase-pure lead titanate at lowertemperatures; also the effect of the precursor materials and heat treatment onmorphology and crystal grows the development of PbTiO3 nanopowders wereinvestigated. There are not any secondary phases when the sample was calcinedat high temperatures. It seemed that heating in the furnace in a longer periodand higher temperatures could affect the size of the crystallites. The powder washeated at 1200 oC had the larger grains and the ferroelectric domains that maycause the lowering of the dielectric constant.

Synthesis and characterization of perovskite PbTiO3 nanoparticles with solution processability†
Ferroelectrics with perovskite structure (ABO3), for example, lead titanate (PbTiO3), are the most studied ferroelectric oxides because of their versatile properties for use in thin film capacitors, electronic transducers, actuators, high-k dielectrics, pyroelectric sensors, and nonlinear optics. The studies on nanostructured PbTiO3 are limited, mainly due to the lack of facile synthetic techni...

Controllable Synthesis of Flower-Like ZnO Nanostructure with Hydrothermal Method (RESEARCH NOTE)
Flower-like ZnO nanostructures were synthesized by decomposing Zn(OH)2 in 1,4- butanediol at 105 °C for 36 h. Size of flower-like ZnO nanostructure can be controlled by pH of the aqueous solution. In the preparation of flower-like ZnO nanostructure, zinc nitrate was used as a precursor. The morphology and microstructure of flower-like ZnO nanostructure have been characterized by scanning electr...

In this study the Taguchi method, has been applied to optimize the heat treatment parameters for the corrosion resistance of AA6061 aluminum alloy. The experimental design consisted of four parameters (aging temperature, aging time, quenching environment and NaCl concentration), each containing three levels. Tafel polarization measurements were carried out to determine the corrosion resistance ...

A facile co-precipitation method for the synthesis of well-dispersed NdFeO3 nanocrystals is developed in the presence of octanoic acid as surfactant. Co-precipitation can produce fine, high-purity, stoichiometric particles of single and multicomponent metal oxides. The product is characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microsc...
