Improve Synthesis of Iron Oxide Nanorode with Hydrothermal Method
Authors
Abstract:
Maghemite and magnetite nanoparticles and nanorode are now losing interests in the field of nanobiotechnology and pharmaceutical for their applications. This paper reports on a hydrothermal process for the synthesis of Fe2 O3 in the γ-phases nanorodes, when the hydrothermal temperature was 100 ̊ C. The uniqueness of the method lies in the use of ferrous ammonium sulphate, hexamine was added as the stabilizer and hydrolyzing agents. The crystal structure, shape particle and magnetic properties of the samples were determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and magnetometer (AGFM), respectively. The particle size was 60nm and length in the range of 300nm. The magnetic behavior of the particles was like the typical behavior of superparamagnetic particles, so smaller particles can improve the magnetic properties and decreasing the coercivity.

Semiconductors with dimensions in the nanometer realm are important because their electrical, optical and chemical properties can be tuned by changing the size of the particles. These nanostructures have attracted much interest due to their fundamental importance in bridging the gap between bulk matter and molecular species [199, 200]. Optical properties of nanoparticles are of great interest f...
full textSynthesis of Carbon Spheres of Controlled Size by Hydrothermal Method
Carbon Spheres were fabricated by hydrothermal method and their structural properties were investigated. Carbon Spheres with average sizes around of 230, 320 and 430 nm were synthesized in different concentration of glucose aqueous solution and different hydrothermal reaction time. The temperature of 180 °C by a hydrothermal reaction was fixed in all of glucose concentration and hydrothermal re...

In the present work, the synthesis of Barium hexaferrite (BaFe12O19) nanoparticles in thepresence of a large excess amount of OH− anions by the hydrothermal method in the presence and absence of surfactants such as Sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate and Triton X-114 was reported. The optimized temperature in the absence of surfactant was determined (200 °C) and then Barium hexaferrite nanoparticl...
