Impact of Mandala Art Therapy on Anxiety Reduction in Women With Substance Abuse.

Abstract   Purpose: The present study aimed to determine the impact of Mandala art therapy was conducted to reduce anxiety in women with substance abuse. Method: The research design was semi-experimental with pre-test-post-test design with control group. the statistical population of study consisted of all women with substance abuse in the city of Sari. The sample consisted of 30 patients That is available by non-probability convenience sampling Selected among addicts referred to the Women's Addiction Treatment Center They were probability divided into experimental (n = 15) and control (n = 15) groups. Zank Self-Rating Anxiety Scale was used for the research instrument. The Mandala Art Therapy was presented to the experimental group for 8 sessions of 60 minutes and The control group did not receive any intervention. Findings: the results of the covariance analysis test showed Because the significance level was Calculated less than 0.05 (F=7/299, P< 0/05), Means the average scores of Anxiety The mean anxiety scores in the experimental group were significantly lower than the control group. Conclusion: according to the research results, Mandala Art Therapy can be used as an effective non-pharmacological solution to reduce anxiety, in women with substance abuse.
