Identifying factors (individual, psychological, organizational) affecting women's career success in sports

Introduction: Today, career success is one of the major concerns of managers of different organizations. As women make up half of human society, sports organizations are also looking to take advantage of womenchr(chr('39')39chr('39'))s leadership skills, ideas, and experiences to meet womenchr(chr('39')39chr('39'))s needs. Therefore, because of the importance of the subject, the purpose of this study is to present a model of womenchr(chr('39')39chr('39'))s career success in sport. Methods: The research strategy is a combination. In the qualitative section, the statistical population of the study includes female managers working in the Ministry of Sports and Youth & Tehran Youth and Sports Department. Sampling was done by purposive method. The data collection tool was a semi-structured interview. The researcher reached theoretical saturation after 14 interviews. In the quantitative section, a questionnaire was designed and provided to female experts working in the Ministry of Sports and Youth, as well as the Department of Sports and Youth. After validation, the reliability of the questionnaire was confirmed using Cronbachchr(chr('39')39chr('39'))s alpha coefficient. Results: By analyzing the manuscripts of the interviews, four main themes were extracted: job success (2 sub-themes), individual factors (4 sub-themes), organizational factors (3 sub-themes), and extra-organizational factors (2 sub-themes). In the quantitative part, the staff agreed with each of the identified themes. Conclusion: Based on the findings of the study, it is suggested to managers of the organization to pay attention to individual and organizational and extracurricular factors in order to achieve more impact.
