Abstract:

In the framework of fuzzy algebras with fuzzy equalities and acomplete lattice as a structure of membership values, we investigate fuzzyequational classes. They consist of special fuzzy algebras fullling the samefuzzy identities, dened with respect to fuzzy equalities. We introduce basicnotions and the corresponding operators of universal algebra: construction offuzzy subalgebras, homomorphisms and direct products. We prove that everyfuzzy equational class is closed under these three operators, which means thatsuch a class is a fuzzy variety.

Fuzzy Equational Logic

Presented is a completeness theorem for fuzzy equational logic with truth values in a complete residuated lattice: Given a fuzzy set Σ of identities and an identity p ≈ q, the degree to which p ≈ q syntactically follows (is provable) from Σ equals the degree to which p ≈ q semantically follows from Σ. Pavelka style generalization of well-known Birkhoff’s theorem is therefore established.

Varieties of fuzzy languages

Fuzzy languages and fuzzy automata are considered using techniques from algebraic theory of automata. Syntactic monoids of fuzzy languages play a crucial role in the study. Varieties of fuzzy languages are introduced and an Eilenberg-type correspondence between varieties of fuzzy languages, varieties of ordinary languages and varieties of monoids is established.

Fuzzy concepts in a fuzzy hierarchy: varieties of anger.

This article argues that the concept of anger is not well characterized from the classical perspective. Instead, its membership is graded, its borders are fuzzy, and its subcategories fail to form a true class-inclusion hierarchy. Ss rated potential anger subcategories (fury, jealousy, annoyance, etc.) and remembered instances of their own anger as varying in degree of membership in anger. Degr...

Mappings on Fuzzy Soft Classes

Recommended by Krzysztof Pietrusewicz We define the concept of a mapping on classes of fuzzy soft sets and study the properties of fuzzy soft images and fuzzy soft inverse images of fuzzy soft sets, and support them with examples and counterexamples.

Some Varieties of Equational Logic

The application of ideas from universal algebra to computer science has long been a major theme of Joseph Goguen’s research, perhaps even the major theme. One strand of this work concerns algebraic datatypes. Recently there has been some interest in what one may call algebraic computation types. As we will show, these are also given by equational theories, if one only understands the notion of ...
