Functionalization of Carboxylate Multi Walled Carbon Nanotube with pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidinone Derivatives by DABCO as a Catalyst in Green Media
Authors
Abstract:
1, 4-Diazabicyclo [2.2.2] octane (DABCO) was employed as a catalyst for one-pot synthesis of pyrano[2,3-d] pyrimidinone derivatives and MWNT- pyrimidinones from condensation reactions of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile and thiobarbituric acid and MWNT-COCl . This method delivers the advantages of a simple method, environment friendly procedure, mild reaction conditions and high returns. The materials were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectroscopy, elemental analysis, scanning electron microscopy and Thermogravimetric analysis.

Bio-functionalization of multi-walled carbon nanotubes.
Here we present a hybrid approach to functionalize multi-walled carbon nanotubes in aqueous solution, exploring a non-covalent binding strategy. We focus on formation of hybrid complexes consisting of carbon nanotubes decorated by single stranded DNA, non-covalently attached using surfactants as intermediate layers. Unlike single walled carbon nanotubes, revealing easy side wall wrapping of DNA...
full textAdsorption of Methyl orange dye from Water solutions by carboxylate group functionalized multi-walled Carbon nanotubes
The present study was carried out to investigate the potential of carboxylate group functionalized Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT−COOH) adsorbent for the removal of Methyl orange (MO) textile dye from aqueous solutions. The effects of pH, shaking time and temperature on adsorption capacity were studied; the contact time to obtain equilibrium at 298 ˚K was fixed at 25 min. The effect of te...

full textElectronic structure control of single-walled carbon nanotube functionalization.
Diazonium reagents functionalize single-walled carbon nanotubes suspended in aqueous solution with high selectivity and enable manipulation according to electronic structure. For example, metallic species are shown to react to the near exclusion of semiconducting nanotubes under controlled conditions. Selectivity is dictated by the availability of electrons near the Fermi level to stabilize a c...
full textFunctionalization of Carboxylated Multi-Walled Nanotubes with Stabilised Phosphorus Ylide
In this paper, the chemical Functionalization of Carboxylate multi-walled carbon nanotubes by methyl (triphenyl phosphoranylidene) acetate have been investigated. Phosphorus Ylides are important compound in organic chemistry. At first, methyl (triphenyl phosphoranylidene) acetate, synthesized from salt metod in two steps: the formation of the phosphonium salt and the deprotonation of the latter...
