Abstract:

One hundred isolates of Fusarium solani species complex were isolated and identified from 58 agricultural soil samples collected from different geographical regions in Kermanshah, Hamadan and Kurdistan provinces of Iran. Based on morphological characteristics, Fusarium falciforme, F. petroliphilum, F. keratoplasticum and F. pseudensiforme, are reported for the first time from Iran.

First report of three new Fusarium species isolated from garden soil in southern Iran

Fifty Fusarium isolates were obtained from 20 garden soil samples in Hormozgan province (S Iran). The isolates were identified based on morphological and molecular data. Sequence data were generated for TEF-1αgene, following PCR amplification. Among the identified species, Fusariummangiferae, F.gaditjirrii, and F. decemcellularerepresent new records to the mycobiota of Iran.

Four new Fusarium taxa isolated from gramineous plants in Iran

In the course of a survey during growing seasons of 2002-04, various fields and pastures in 23 Iranian provinces were sampled. Some 1200 isolates of Fusarium from root, crown, stem and spike of various plants belonging to the family Poaceae were recovered using Nash-Snyder selective medium and purified on potato dextrose agar (PDA). Based on morphological characters, 35 Fusarium species were id...

Toxigenic potential of Fusarium species isolated from non-harvested maize.

The objective of this study was to determine the frequencies of distribution and the toxigenic potential of Fusarium species isolated from non-harvested maize left in field over winter in 1999 (N = 56) and 2003 (N = 56) in northern Croatia. Zearalenone and trichothecenes (DON, DAS, T-2) were isolated and detected using multitoxin extraction and TLC method. Modified TLC method was applied to det...
