One-pot Four-component Reaction between Arylamines, Arylglyoxals, Cyclohexyl Isocyanide, and Acetylene Diesters: An Efficient Synthesis of 2H-iminopyran Derivatives

A facile synthesis of highly functionalized 2H-iminopyran derivatives by the multi-component reaction of cyclohexyl isocyanide, dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates, arylglyoxals and arylamines is described. The zwitterionic intermediate produced by addition of cyclohexyl isocyanide to electron-deficient acetylene diesters was trapped by the electrophilic imine moiety of α-iminoketones, derived from...

A facile one-pot four-component synthesis of dihydropyrrol-2-ones using Cl3CCO2H

A convenient synthesis of different types of polyfunctional dihydropyrrol-2-ones via one-pot four component reactions of formaldehyde, dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates and amines, catalyzed by trichloroacetic acid (Cl3CCO2H) at room temperature has been investigated. The significant advantages of this synthetic method are mild reaction conditions, available and inexpensive material, short reacti...

Differences between the Reaction of 2-Benzylidenecyclopentanone with Malononitrile and the Reaction of Cyclopentylidenemalononitrile with Aromatic Aldehydes; Synthesis of Strong Fluorescent o-Aminonitriles

Z. Naturforsch. 41b, 1471 — 1478 (1986); received June 5, 1986 2-Benzylidenecyclopentanone, Cyclopentylidenemalononitrile, o-Aminonitriles, Luminescent Spectra It was found that instead of the Knoevenagel condensation of cyclopentylidenemalononitrile with aromatic aldehydes, a complex reaction takes place leading to 5,7-dicyano-l-arylidene-4arylindanes. The same compounds were formed in the rea...

A Novel Synthesis of Highly Functionalized Pyridines by a One-Pot, Three-Component Tandem Reaction of Aldehydes, Malononitrile and N-Alkyl-2-cyanoacetamides under Microwave Irradiation.

A convenient, fast and environmentally benign procedure for the synthesis of a new series of highly functionalized N-alkylated pyridines as privileged medicinal scaffolds was developed via a unique three-component reaction of easily available aromatic as well as heteroaromatic aldehydes, N-alkyl-2-cyanoacetamides and malononitrile in EtOH in the presence of K₂CO₃ as a base promoter under microw...

Phosphotungstic Acidcatalyzed Strecker Three-Component Reaction of Amino Acids, Aldehydes, and Trimethylsilyl Cyanide

A simple and efficient one-pot, three-component Strecker reaction of protected amino acids, aromatic aldehydes, and trimethylsilyl cyanide has been developed for the synthesis of chiral α-amino nitriles. The reaction was carried out in the presence of catalytic amount of phosphotungstic acid (H3[P(W3O10)4]) as an environmentally friendly cata...
