قصور در مراقبت و آموزش پرستاری می تواند مشکلات بسیاری را برای بیماران دیابتیک فراهم کند و موجب آسیب پذیری و تغییر در سلامت ظاهری پاهای آنان شود. با توجه به اینکه نیمی از آمپوتاسیونهای غیرتروماتیک در ایالات متحده را مشکلات بیماران دیابتیک ملیتوس شامل می شود خصوصیات ویژه پاهای این بیماران در این مقاله بازگو می گردد.
