Abstract:

A sensitive and selective extraction - spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace amounts of palladium is reported. The method is based on quantitative extraction of brownish tetrabutylammoium tetraiodopalladium (II) ion pair into a small valume of chloroform at pH 1.3-12.0, followed by spectrophotometric measurements. The Beer's law is obeyed over the range 0.02-1.09 mgml-1 at 445 nm with the molar absorptivity of 5.3´103 lmol-1cm-1. The Sandell's sensitivity is 0.80 mg cm-2 for 0.001 absorbance unit. The method has a wide range and is simple, rapid and free from interferences from many cations and anions. The procedure was applied to the determination of palladium in the activated carbon.

Spectrophotometric determination of palladium by extraction of its

A new method is proposed for naphthalene extraction and spectrophotometric determination of palladium at the ppm level with chinoform. The method is based on the formation of a yellow complex which is extractable by molten naphthalene and on the dissolution of the extract in dioxane. The yellow solution follows Beer's law at 462 nm over ~he range of 7 to 140 ~g of palladium per 10 ml of dioxane...

EXTRACTION-SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF AMMONIUM ION BY DIBENZO- 18-CROWN-6 AND CALMAGITE

An extraction-spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace amounts of ammonium ion is described. Ammonium ion is effectively extracted as a neutral ternary complex NH . DB 18C6. calmagite at pH 3.0 into chloroform, followed by spectrophotometric determination at =48 5 nm. Molar absorptivity of the ternary complex at this wavelength is 1.08 10 mol cm . Beer's law is obeyed over...

Spectrophotometric determination of uric acid based on fading of o-hydroxyhydroquinonephthalein-palladium(II)-hexadecyltrimethyl-ammonium complex.

A simple and highly sensitive spectrophotometric method for the determination of uric acid (UA) was established based on fading of the o-hydroxyhydroquinonephthalein-palladium(II)-hexadecyltrimethylammonium complex. In the determination of UA, Beer's law is obeyed in the range of 0.01-0.20 microg ml(-1), with an effective molar absorptivity at 635 nm, the relative standard deviation being 6.5 x...

Extraction - Spectrophotometric Determination of Nic and Palladium ( II ) with 0 , 0 p - Diethyldithiophosphate 1 kel ( II )

Nickel(II) of 0.04-1.4 mmol dm-3 and palladium(II) of 1-32 μmol dm-3 were extracted quantitatively into chloroform from the aqueous phases containing 0.2 mol dm-3 and 2 mmol dm-3 0,0'-diethyldithiophosphate(dtp-) at pH 1-7 and 1-13, and determined at 385 nm (c=8.4x 102 mol-' dm3 cm-') and 298 nm (e=2.9x 104 mol-' dm3 cm-'), respectively. The determination of nickel was affected with many divers...
