Abstract:

Bridges are one the most important and useful river structure and as a key of Communication ways are very significant. Local Scouring is one the most reason of Instability of bridges and finally its failure annually immense human and financial cost to the government imposes. So far, several studies on ways to control and reduce scouring around piers of the bridges has been done among them, the slot is at the base of the bridge. The purpose of this study is experimental investigation of maximum change of scouring over to time. For this purpose, two slot with Triangular and inverse triangular with same area and two levels of location, 1.5 and 3 cm over the bed at two discharges 25.6 and 32 lit/s on sediment with 0.5 mm diameter are investigated. The results of this study show that, at all of the cases slot caused reduce the local scouring and reduced the maximum volume hole scouring also the maximum scouring depth and volume of scouring hole with level of location to bed and Froude number and time has direct relationship.

Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna with Triangular Slot

This paper describes the design of Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna with Triangular Slot (RMPATS) at a frequency of f = 2. 4 GHz. The proposed antenna has been designed by introducing a triangular slot in the rectangular patch. The FR4-Epoxy with relative permittivity 4. 4 and height 1. 6 mm is used as substrate material. Antenna is fed by coaxial probe feed. The proposed antenna have accep...

Comparison of Effectiveness Between Conventional Scouring & Bio-Scouring On Cotton Fabrics

A. M. K. Bahrum Prang Rocky Abstract-This study attempted to evaluate the eco-friendly bio-scouring and the conventional chemical (mainly NaOH) scouring processes of cotton & comparison between the effectiveness of both types of scouring process on cotton fibres and fabrics in the Textile industries. Less developed countries, like Bangladesh, do not set strict rules and regulations to discharge...

effect of collar- slot combination on the local scouring around the bridge piers

scoure is the removal of particle sediment which results variation of flow pattern. local scour is considered as one of the reasons of instability and ultimately failure of bridges.therefore, proposing some controlling methods to reduce this phenomenon is essential. in the study, effects of two types of squar and circular collar on a single cylindrical model have been investigated. in the next ...

on the comparison of keyword and semantic-context methods of learning new vocabulary meaning

the rationale behind the present study is that particular learning strategies produce more effective results when applied together. the present study tried to investigate the efficiency of the semantic-context strategy alone with a technique called, keyword method. to clarify the point, the current study seeked to find answer to the following question: are the keyword and semantic-context metho...
