“Equivalent Linear Composition” as an Efficient Stratification Factor in Multipurpose Surveys
Authors
Abstract:
Horticulture survey is a multi-purpose survey which is conducted ad hoc by Statistical Center of Iran (SCI). Availability of survey variables in the sampling frame suggests a multivariate stratification in each province based on its desired variables for acquiring a higher efficiency. There are several ways to stratify the sampling frame considering all stratification variables, such as using sum of observation on all variables, clustering, using first principal component, and specially an almost new method which uses multiple-frame techniques. We introduce, the equivalent linear composition factor, and illustrate how it works more efficiently then the other methods in this particular survey.

Au nano dendrites/composition optimized Nd-dopped cobalt oxide as an efficient electrocatalyst for ethanol oxidation
In this study, Nd-doped cobalt oxide (Nd-Co3O4) nanoparticles were prepared by a combustion synthesis procedure using Co(acac)3 complex. The nanoparticles were characterized by infrared spectroscopy (IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). Then, the effect of Nd-Co3O4 ...
full textP97: Physical Exercise as an Effective Factor in Alzheimer Disease
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive disease that destroys memory and other important mental activities. Scientists have found that remaining relatively active can lead to better brain activities in those at risk of developing AD. In some Meta-analyses of prospective investigations, a significantly reduced risk of dementia related to midlife exercise have been proven. Most studies have bee...

full textAn Abstract Approach to Stratification in Linear Logic
We study the notion of stratification, as used in subsystems of linear logic with low complexity bounds on the cut-elimination procedure (the so-called “light” subsystems), from an abstract point of view, introducing a logical system in which stratification is handled by a separate modality. This modality, which is a generalization of the paragraph modality of Girard’s light linear logic, arise...
full textHow to Achieve an Equivalent Simple Permutation in Linear Time
The problem of Sorting signed permutations by reversals is a well studied problem in computational biology. The first polynomial time algorithm was presented by Hannenhalli and Pevzner in 1995 [5]. The algorithm was improved several times, and nowadays the most efficient algorithm has a subquadratic running time [9, 8]. Simple permutations played an important role in the development of these al...
