Abstract:

Present preliminary scientific trial was designed to investigate of microwave effects on Japanese quails as an animal model. Thirty six three days-old quail chicks were randomly divided into 3 experimental groups and received: A) un-treated tap water, B) tap water boiled by electrical heater and then cooled and C) tap water treated by microwave oven and then cooled. The whole experimental period was 40 days. During the experiment body weight gain (BWG), feed intake (FI) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) were measured. At the end of the study, carcass, liver, spleen and bursa of fabricius weighed and small intestinal length, blood hemoglobin and hematocrit, small intestinal villus height and crypt depth were measured. The lowest body weight gain was observed in group C (P0.01). Carcass, liver, spleen and bursa of fabricius weights and small intestinal length were the lowest in group C (P

Effects of Salbutamol on growth performance and carcass characteristics of Japanese quail (Coturnix japonica)

The effects of feeding diets containing Salbutamol (0, 1, 3, 5 and 7 mg/kg diet) from 21 to 49 days of ageon growth performance and carcass characteristics in 180 male and 180 female Japanese quails (Coturnixjaponica) were studied using a factorial arrangement based on completely randomized design. Gender hadsignificant effect on weight gain (Pwere not statistically significant (P>0.05). Salbut...

Physiological, Biochemical and Metabolic Responses of Japanese Quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) as Affected by Early Heat Stress and Dietary Treatment

The main objective of this study was to elucidate the effect of short- term exposure of Japanese quail eggs to acute high incubation temperature on embryonic development and on the ability of post- hatched chicks to cope with subsequent heat stress conditions during the growing period. A total of 998 Japanese quail eggs were divided into two groups, the first group (470 eggs) was maintained at ...

Effects of Water Salinity on Growth Indices and Physiological Parameters in Some Wild Pistachio

The effect of four water salinity levels (0.75, 5, 10 and 15 dS.m -1 ) on growth indices and physiological parameters in some wild pistachio (P. atlantica, P. atlantica subsp. kurdica, P. atlantica subsp. mutica and P. atlantica subsp. cabulica) were investigated under greenhouse conditions. Leaf dry weight was reduced to about 30-54% at ECw 10 dS.m -1 . Chemical analysis of shoot and root indi...

Enzyme on Japanese Quail (Coturnix japonica) Performance

An experiment was conducted to study the eff ect of phytase enzyme (Natuphos 500) supplementation in Japanese quail (Coturnix japonica) (3 to 45 days of age) on body weight, carcass performance, percentage of tibia bone ash and tibia phosphorus. Data were analyzed as a completely randomized design arranged with fi ve levels (150, 300, 600, 1200 and 2400 FTU/Kg) of phytase enzyme as treatments 1...
