Effects of Chicory Powder and Butyric Acid Combination on Performance, Carcass Traits and some Blood Parameters in Broiler Chickens
Authors
Abstract:
The objective of this study was to determine the effect of different levels of chicory root and stem powder (CRSP) and butyric acid (BA) combination on the performance, carcass traits, relative weight of internal organs and some blood parameters in broiler chickens. Two hundred and forty one-day-old broilers (Ross 308) were used in a completely randomized design with four treatments with six replicates of 10 birds each. The treatments were: 1) basal diet without CRSP and BA (control group), 2) basal diet + 15 g/kg CRSP + 0.3% BA (CRSP15), 3) basal diet + 30 g/kg CRSP + 0.3% BA (CRSP30) and 4) basal diet + 45 g/kg CRSP + 0.3% BA (CRSP45). At day forty six, two birds per replicate (pen) were randomly selected and slaughtered for carcass traits and some blood parameter measurements. The results showed that body weight gain of birds fed CRSP45 diet was significantly (P

full textInfluence of Artichoke (Cynara scolymus) Leaf Powder on Growth Performance, Carcass Traits and Blood Parameters in Broiler Chickens
The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of dietary artichoke supplementation on performance, carcass traits and some blood parameters of broiler chickens. A total of 300, one day old broiler chicks (Ross-308) were randomly allocated to 1 of 4 dietary treatments including: basal diet (control), basal diet supplemented with 1.5 or 3 percent of Artichoke powder and also with 300...
full textEffects of Irradiated Flaxseed on Performance, Carcass Characteristics, Blood Parameters, and Nutrient Digestibility in Broiler Chickens
The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of feeding electron irradiated flaxseed (FS) on performance, carcass characteristics, blood parameters, digesta viscosity, and nutrient digestibility in broiler chickens. In a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement, 320 day-old broiler chicks were randomly assigned to one of five experimental diets, each with four replicates containing 16 chicks e...
full textEffect of Enzymes Supplementation (Rovabio and Kemin) on some Blood Biochemical Parameters, Performance and Carcass Characterizes in Broiler Chickens
An experiment was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of exogenous enzymes supplementation (ES) on performance, carcass traits and some blood parameters of broilers chickens. One hundred and eighty day old chicks with 40 ± 2 g initial body weight in a completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 4 replications were fed experimental diets included, 1) basal diet no enzymes (control), 2) bas...
full textEffect of Butyric Acid on Performance, Gastrointestinal Tract Health and Carcass Characteristics in Broiler Chickens
An experiment was conducted to study the effect of graded levels of butyric acid (butyrate) on performance, gastrointestinal tract health and carcass characteristics in young broiler chickens. Control starter (0-3 wk) and finisher (4-5 wk) diets were formulated to contain 2,900 kcal ME/kg and 22% CP, and 3,000 kcal ME/kg and 20% CP, respectively. Subsequently, four other experimental diets were...
full textEffect of Encapsulated Choline Chloride on Performance, Carcass Characteristics and Some Blood Parameters in Broiler Chicks
This study examined the effects of various levels of dietary encapsulated choline chloride (ECC) on growth performance, carcass characteristics, serum and liver lipids content in Ross 308 broilers. A total of 480 day-old broilers were assigned to eight dietary treatments with six replicates of 10 birds each from 1 to 21 days of age. Eight experimental diets were provided from a basal non-added ...
