Effective Solvent Systems for Separation of PTH-Amino Acids on Polyamide Sheet
Authors
Abstract:
Two dimensional thin layer chromatography on polyamide sheets is a useful method for identification of PTH-amino acids which have very close Rf-values. The solvent systems described here are particularly effective and have an edge over other solvent systems used for the separation of PTH-amino acids. The solvent systems provide a clear separation of all PTH-amono acids except lle / Leu in a relatively short time.

full textTheoretical study of the solvent effects on the thermodynamic functions of Alanine and Valine Amino Acids
Using Gaussian 03, software the thermodynamic functions such as Gibbs free energy, G, Enthalpy, H, and Entropy, S, of Alanine and Valine amino acids were theoretically studied at different solvents. First, the Density Functional Theory (B3LYP) level with 3-21G, 6-31G and 6-31+G basis sets were employed to optimization of isolated Alanine and Valine amino acids in the gas phase. Moreover, Vib...
full textPolyamide amino acids: a new class of RNA ligands.
This communication introduces a new class of promising RNA ligands, named polyamide amino acids (PAA), which are able to bind a targeted bulged stem-loop RNA fragment (HIV-1 TAR RNA) with micromolar affinities and with specificity comparative to dsDNA and tRNA; both the affinity and the specificity of PAA for TAR depend on their length and on the nature of the amino acid residues.
full textTheoretical Thermodynamic Study of Solvent Effects on Serine and Threonine Amino Acids at Different Temperatures
The thermodynamic functions such as enthalpy (H), Gibbs free energy (G) and entropy (S) of Serineand Threonine amino acids were theoretically studied at different condition (solvents andtemperatures) by using Gussian o3, software. First, the structural optimization of isolated Serine andThreonine were done in the gas phase by using the Hartree-Fock (HF) level of theory with 3-21G, 6-31G and 6-3...
full textSeparation of Amino Acids by Paper Chromatography
Chromatography is a common technique for separating chemical substances. The prefix “chroma,” which suggests “color,” comes from the fact that some of the earliest applications of chromatography were to separate components of the green pigment, chlorophyll. You may have already used this method to separate the colored components in ink. In this experiment you will use chromatography to separate...
