Effect of large TiO2 Nanoparticles as Light Scatter in Matrix of Small Nanoparticles to Improve the Efficiency in Dye- Sensitized Solar Cell
Authors
Abstract:
In this study, we investigated the effect of using large TiO2 nanoparticles in the matrix of small nanoparticles to improve the performance of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), as light scatter to increase the light harvesting. The mixed powder was deposited by electrophoretic deposition (EPD) on FTO (F-SnO2 coated glass). It is shown that adding small quantity of larger nanoparticles can enhance the performance of DSSCs. This paper also studies the deferential scanning calorimetry (DSC) of mixed powders to detect the phase transitions, due to the change of weight percentage between large and small nanoparticles.

full textEnhancement of Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells Efficiency Using Mixed-Phase TiO2 Nanoparticles as Photoanode
Dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) is a potential candidate to replace conventional silicon-based solar cells because of high efficiency, cheap cost, and lower energy consumption in comparison with silicon chip manufacture. In this report, mixed-phase (anatase and rutile nanoparticles) TiO2 photoanode was synthesized to investigate material characteristics, carriers transport, and photovoltaic pe...
full textNanoparticles influence on dye-sensitized solar cells based on TiO2
Today, Solar cell technology is in limited use due to the relatively high manufacturing cost of silicon based technology, And the low power efficiency of organic polymer based technology. However, Research is being done on hybrid cells based on dye-sensitizing organic polymers and a thin transparent conducting oxide layer comprised of nanoparticles. These cells could offer the same ease of manu...

The dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) have been regarded as one of the most promising new generation solar cells. Tremendous research efforts have been invested to improve the efficiency of solar energy conversion which is generally determined by the light harvesting efficiency, electron injection efficiency and undesirable electron lifetime. In this review, various characteristics of dye-...
full textSynergistic effect between anatase and rutile TiO2 nanoparticles in dye-sensitized solar cells.
A synergistic effect between anatase and rutile TiO2 is known, in which the addition of rutile can remarkably enhance the photocatalytic activity of anatase in the degradation of organic contaminants. In this study, mixed-phase TiO2 nanocomposites consisting of anatase and rutile nanoparticles (NPs) were prepared for use as photoanodes in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) and were characterize...
