Abstract:

Stud bull plays an important role in the development of animal husbandry. Detailed knowledge about maintenance behavior of stud bulls is essential for practicing better management conditions in the farm to support the artificial insemination (AI) industry demand. Therefore, a comparative study was conducted on stud bulls to evaluate the effect of genetic group, season, genetic group × season interaction, temperature, humidity and temperature humidity index (THI) on maintenance behavior. Twenty five stud bulls (five bulls each from five different genetic groups) in two seasons (i.e. winter and summer) maintained at the Frozen Semen Bull Station, Nadia, Haringhata (West Bengal), India were selected for the study. There was a significant effect of genetic group on eating (P

Effect of temperature-humidity index on productive and reproductive performances of Iranian Holstein cows

Calving records from April 1996 to December 2005 comprising 31863 calving events of 1173 dairy cows in a large commercial dairy herd were used to evaluate the effects of heat stress, using temperature-humidity index (THI) on milk yield and composition and reproductive performance of Holstein dairy cows under humid climatic conditions of Rasht in Iran. THI values were grouped into six groups: 30...

Functional Modeling of Iranian Precipitation Based on Temperature and Humidity

Functional Data Analysis (FDA) has recently made considerable progress because of easier access to the data that are essentially in the form of curves. Modeling of Iranian precipitation based on temperature and humidity with continuous the essential nature of such phenomena that are continuous functions of time has not been done properly. The corresponding data are generally collected daily or ...

Influence of Season on Biochemical Attributes of Bhadawari Buffalo Bull Semen: Effect of Temperature and Humidity

The present study was undertaken to establish the seasonal variations in semen biochemical indices in Bhadawari bull. Four fertile, healthy adult Bhadawari bulls aged between 2 to 4 years were used as semen donors. The study was conducted over a period of six months and divided into three seasons as winter season (FebruaryMarch), dry summer season (April-May) and wet summer season (June-July). ...

Effect of Temperature, Relative Humidity and Physical Activity on B

Temperature and relative humidity are as major factors that stimulate exercise-induced bronchospasm (EIB). The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of environmental temperature and relative humidity on the EIB in the pre-test and 5, 10, 15 and 60 minutes (1 hour) after the activity in the exercise (EXEG) and control (CONG) groups. Among 60 adolescent male students of Sport and Ph...
