Abstract:

Body Centric Wireless Communication (BCWC) has been topic of much research in recent years. In this manuscript, a novel low-cost microstrip patch antenna is designed for on-/off-body communication with a dual-band operation. The proposed structure exhibits a monopole-like radiation pattern at 2.45 GHz and a broadside radiation at 4.8 GHz, simultaneously. Lateral dimensions of 42 mm × 46 mm and a low profile foam substrate with thickness of 2.5 mm are considered for the dual-mode antenna presented. The proposed low-cost structure is fabricated and the stability of its performance under the human body effects is investigated through both simulation and measurement. The experimental results are in good agreement with the simulated ones.

Compact dual band slotted patch antenna for wireless systems

This paper presents the study on a slot-etched rectangular patch antenna directly fed by the 50 Ω semi miniature A-type (SMA) co-axial connector for wireless systems. The dual frequency behaviour by etching the slots on plane patch surface is studied experimentally. The proposed patch antenna has also achieved 28% compactness with a gain of 9.74 dB. Other antenna parameters such as antenna inpu...

Twice -Band Microstrip Hexagonal Slotted Patch Antenna for Microwave Communication

A single layer, single feed compact slotted patch antenna is thoroughly simulated in this paper. Resonant f requency has been reduced drastically by cutting three equal slots which are same hexagonal structure at the upper right, upper left and lower left corner from the conventional microstrip patch antenna. It is shown that the simulated results are in acceptable agreement. More importantly, ...

Monopole Slotted Patch Antenna for Microwave Communication

A single layer monpole slotted patch antenna is thoroughly simulated in this paper. Resonant frequency has been reduced drastically by cutting three equal slots which are same hexagonal structure at the upper right, upper left, lower left corner and a circle at the center from the conventional microstrip patch antenna. It is shown that the simulated results are in acceptable agreement. More imp...

Multi-slotted Microstrip Patch Antenna for Wireless Communication

Abstract—A new design technique of microstrip patch antenna is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna design consists of inverted patch structure with air-filled dielectric, direct coaxial probe feed technique and the novel slotted shaped patch. The composite effect of integrating these techniques and by introducing the new multislotted patch, offer a low profile, high gain, broadband, a...

A Novel Quad-band Printed Antenna Design using a Multi-Slotted Patch for Cellular Communication

This article proposes a quad band patch antenna for mobile communication. The design requirements are to meet the 0.9 GHz, 1.8 GHz, 2.1 GHz and 2.45 GHz bands. The proposed antenna consists of a rectangular patch monopole printed antenna in which slotting technique is used to achieve multi band resonance. The Patch with three slotted lines generates four resonating frequencies to cover 0.9 GHz ...
