Does LEP prefer the NMSSM ?
We study the naturalness of electroweak symmetry breaking and baryogenesis in the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM). Our study is motivated by the recent LEP bounds on the Higgs boson mass which severely constrains the low tan β region of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). We show that the low tanβ region of the NMSSM is clearly favoured over the MSSM with reg...
full textDoes society prefer small innovation?
In this paper we show how the size of innovation can affect the incentive for cooperative R&D and social welfare. When cost difference between large and small innovations is not sufficiently large then social welfare can be more under small innovation compared to large innovation. However, the innovating firm always prefers large innovation.

Some patients with frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) have shown the development of painting or musical abilities after the onset of the disease. In this report, we present another emergent ability. A female patient with FTLD showing dense atrophy of the bilateral anterior lobes and a loss of voluntary activity in aspects of daily living, presented with the characteristic behaviours when ...
full textWe Prefer Sons But Does It Matter
Highly imbalanced sex ratios suggest that Asian families prefer sons. This preference may be expressed as reduction in parental investment in daughters when a younger son is born. This study investigates the gender effect of a younger sibling on older daughter's schooling. We construct a unique dataset linking national administrative data on college entrance examinations (CET) to birth registry...
