Disc antibiogram test with graded plate method
Authors
Abstract:
Abstract Background and objectives: Halo interference around antibiogram disc is one of the problems seen in Agar media. This study aimed at applying graded plate method to reduce this problem. Material and Methods: Forty-eight millimeter plates, before putting disc, were graded and the location of discs was determined. Instead of full disc, we used half-disc and then compared the haloe interference, based on clinical and Laboratory Standard Institute (CLSI), of Klebseila Pneumoniae in the presence of nine different antibiotics. Results: The tests performed on Klebseila Pneumoniae show that five antibiotics such as Enrofloxacin (24mm), Flumequine (12mm), Furazolidone (22mm), ampicillin (22mm) and Florfenicle (22mm) cause non-growth haloes while none of them has interference haloe when we use the news method. Conclusion: According to results, the graded plate not only has negative effect on Antibiogram results but also is careful and decrease the interference produced by previous methods and its efficacy is increased up to %17.64 when we use 84 diametered Plate. Non-linear Static Modeling of Moderately Thick Functionally Graded Plate Using Dynamic Relaxation Method
In this paper, nonlinear static analysis of moderately thick plate made of functionally graded materials subjected to mechanical transverse loading is carried out using dynamic relaxation method. Mindlin first order shear deformation theory is employed to consider thick plate. Discretized equations are extracted for geometrically nonlinear behavior analysis.Loading Conditions and boundary condi...
full textSimplified 48-hour IMVic test: an agar plate method.
An agar plate method was developed for the performance of the IMVic (indole, methyl red, Voges-Proskauer, and citrate) tests in lieu of the conventional tubed liquid media. By modifying the composition of the media and adding agar, a single "X"-compartmented petri dish was prepared containing all four IMVic test media. Ease of performance and simplification of the test were achieved by inoculat...
full textNonlinear vibration analysis of functionally graded plate in contact with fluid: Analytical study
In this paper, the nonlinear vibrations analysis of functionally graded (FG) rectangular plate in contact with fluid are investigated analytically using first order shear deformation theory (FSDT). The pressure exerted on the free surface of the plate by the fluid is calculated using the velocity potential function and the Bernoulli equation. With the aid of von Karman nonlinearity strain-displ...
full textAnalysis of Mode III Fraction in Functionally Graded Plate with Linearly Varying Properties
A model is provided for crack problem in a functionally graded semi-infinite plate under an anti-plane load. The characteristic of material behavior is assumed to change in a linear manner along the plate length. Also the embedded crack is placed in the direction of the material change. The problem is solved using two separate techniques. Primary, by applying Laplace and Fourier transformation,...
full textMagnetic Stability of Functionally Graded Soft Ferromagnetic Porous Rectangular Plate
This study presents critical buckling of functionally graded soft ferromagnetic porous (FGFP) rectangular plates, under magnetic field with simply supported boundary condition. Equilibrium and stability equations of a porous rectangular plate in transverse magnetic field are derived. The geometrical nonlinearities are considered in the Love-Kirchhoff hypothesis sense. The formulations are compa...
