Evaluate the proposed model using the path analysis method and SPSS and AMOS software were used to analyze the statistical data. Results:  Based on the findings of this study, the proposed model had a desirable fit (RMSEA = 0.056, GFI = 0.91, IFI = 0.93, X2 = 1.98 and P-value=0/159). The results showed that the correlation coefficient between all personality traits of neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience, pleasantness, conscientiousness on psychological well-being (β= -0/72, 0/42, 0/21, 0/30, 0/46), and on emotional intelligence (β=-0/23, 0/33, 0/28, 0/34, 0/72) have a significant and direct effect. Among personality traits, only conscientiousness' correlation coefficient (β=0/43) on adherence to treatment had a significant and direct effect. Also, both the correlation coefficient emotional intelligence(β=0/93) and adherence to treatment(β=0/12) on well-being had a significant and direct effect. All the indirect effects obtained in the final research model are significant. Conclusion: The model has a good fitness and would be an important step in recognition of the factors, which effect on psychological health of the diabetic patients. Therefore, it can be used as a suitable model for designing programs for the prevention of psychological well-being problems in diabetic patients.
