Abstract:

Background: The bovine AGPAT6 gene is one of the potential candidate genes governing milk fat synthesis. Objectives: Identification of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) in the targeted region of AGPAT6 gene and their effect on expected breeding values (EBV) of first lactation milk production traits viz. fat %, fat yield and 305 days milk yield in Karan Fries (KF) breeding bulls were sought.Materials and Methods: A tetra-primer ARMS PCR technique was adapted to genotype an SNP, g.36,175,805C>T located on 5’ flanking region of AGPAT6 gene. The relationship between EBV of milk production traits and polymorphic locus of AGPAT6 gene was assessed. Results: Three kinds of genotype (CC, CT, and TT) with respect to g.36,175,805C>T SNP locus were observed. The identified SNP had significant (P

the study of aaag repeat polymorphism in promoter of errg gene and its association with the risk of breast cancer in isfahan region

A Novel Multiplex Tetra-Primer ARMS-PCR for the Simultaneous Genotyping of Six Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms Associated with Female Cancers

BACKGROUND The tetra-primer amplification refractory mutation system PCR (T-ARMS-PCR) is a fast and economical means of assaying SNP's, requiring only PCR amplification and subsequent electrophoresis for the determination of genotypes. To improve the throughput and efficiency of T-ARMS-PCR, we combined T-ARMS-PCR with a chimeric primer-based temperature switch PCR (TSP) strategy, and used capil...

Genotyping single nucleotide polymorphisms in barley by tetra-primer ARMS-PCR.

Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are the most abundant form of DNA polymorphism. These polymorphisms can be used in plants as simple genetic markers for many breeding applications, for population studies, and for germplasm fingerprinting. The great increase in the available DNA sequences in the databases has made it possible to identify SNPs by "database mining", and the single most impor...

Single nucleotide polymorphism of FGF2 gene in Iranian Holstein proven bulls

Fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2) serves in the uterine endometrium during estrous presenting in the bovine mammary gland which is responsible to express interferon-T (IFNT), and is an important agent to encourage the continuation of pregnancy in the ruminants. Significant associations have been found between genes affected by IFNT and genes that are responsible for milk production traits. Seme...

Single Nucleotide Polymorphism in the Promoter Region of Bovine Interleukin 8 Gene and its Association with Milk Production Traits and Somatic Cell Score of Holstein Cattle in Iran

Background: Interleukie-8 is a proinflammatory cytokine and a potent chemotactic and activation factor for neutrophils. It has been reported to be expressed in high levels by various cell types after immune stimulation and mediates neutrophil recruitment in host. Objectives: The aim of this study was to analysis of the relationship between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) at position -18...
