Design of a Two Octave Gysel Power-Divider Using DGS and DMS
Authors
Abstract:
This paper proposes a two way L and S band Gysel power divider/combiner that uses line to ground resistors. Step by step methods to obtain a wide isolation and transmission bandwidth are presented. A design that uses five resistors is selected and optimized based on Quasi Newton method. Then the Defected Microstrip Structure (DMS) and Defected Ground Structure (DGS) is used to obtain better transmission and isolation in wider bandwidth. By resizing the structure to meet impedance matching, the two-way L and S band power divider is achieved. Also the optimization of the design is checked using circuit configuration. Finally, the theoretical results are validated by comparison with simulations of structure and experimental results. The simulations are found to be in good agreement with measurement results in the range of 0.7 to 4.3 GHz.

A Miniaturized Wilkinson Power Divider Using Dgs and Fractal Structure for Gsm Application
This paper proposes a miniaturization method for conventional Wilkinson Power Divider(WPD) by replacing the quarter wave sections with the help of fractals. The performance degradation is compensated by using Defected Ground Structure (DGS). The resultant device occupies 56% of the area in comparison to the conventional WPD. The simulation results show a reflection coefficient of −66.98 dB and ...

A novel coupled-line structure is proposed to design dual-band and high-power Gysel power dividers with inherent impedance-transforming functions. Based on traditional even- and odd-mode technique, the analytical design methods in closed-form formula are obtained and the accurate electrical parameters analysis is presented. Due to the usage of coupled-line sections, more design-parameter freedo...
full textCompact Wideband Gysel Power Divider with Arbitrary Power Division Based on Patch Type Structure
A novel Gysel power divider based on patch type structure is presented in this paper. The proposed power divider possesses broad bandwidth, small physical occupation and arbitrary power division. More than 30% bandwidth enhancement is achieved based on the −15 dB input return loss criteria, while 55% size reduction is realized compared with conventional Gysel power divider. What’s more, flat di...

A novel 180◦ hybrid is proposed, based on a modified Gysel power combiner, using phase shifter and ground bridge for the difference output. Also the Defected Microstrip Structure has been used to increase the hybrid’s phase matching. All steps of the design are simulated using HFSS 11 and the final design is validated by the fabrication. It has good results between 7 GHz to 10 GHz and can be us...
