Cxcr4 expression is associated with time–course permanent and temporary myocardial infarction in rats
Authors
Abstract:
Objective(s): Experimental myocardial infarction triggers secretion of Stromal cell-derived factor1 and lead to increase in the expression of its receptor "CXCR4" on the surface of various cells. The aim of this study was to evaluate the expression pattern of CXCR4 in peripheral blood cells following time-course permanent and temporary ischemia in rats. Materials and Methods: Fourteen male Wistar rats were divided into two groups of seven and were placed under permanent and transient ischemia. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells were isolated at different time points, RNAs extracted and applied to qRT-PCR analysis of the CXCR4 gene. Results: Based on repeated measures analysis of variance, the differences in the expression levels of the gene in each of the groups were statistically significant over time (the effect of time) (P-value< 0.001). Additionally, the difference in gene expression between the two groups was statistically significant (the effect of group), such that at all times, the expression levels of the gene were significantly higher in the permanent ischemia than in the transient ischemia group (P-value

full textInterval Training Intensity and the Expression of Caspase-9 in Obese Rats with Myocardial Infarction
Objective: Physical exercise reduces myocardial apoptosis but its molecular process is unclear yet. The activated Caspase-9 has a key role in advancing the process of apoptosis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of aerobic interval training intensity on the process of apoptosis in the 10-week male obese wistar rats with myocardial infarction. Materials and Methods: In this clini...
full textMyocardial CXCR4 expression is required for mesenchymal stem cell mediated repair following acute myocardial infarction.
BACKGROUND Overexpression of stromal cell-derived factor-1 in injured tissue leads to improved end-organ function. In this study, we quantify the local trophic effects of mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) stromal cell-derived factor-1 release on the effects of MSC engraftment in the myocardium after acute myocardial infarction. METHODS AND RESULTS Conditional cardiac myocyte CXCR4 (CM-CXCR4) null m...
full textFactors associated with prehospital delay in patients with acute myocardial infarction
Introduction: Treatment of patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is time related, so delay in treatment could affect prognosis. Recognizing pre-hospital or in-hospital delays in initiating treatment and reducing these factors is very efficacious in treatment of these patients. Methods: A cross sectional study was carried out on 227 patients with acute myocardial infarction. Demographi...
full textMyocardial Infarction in Rats
To determine whether acute left ventricular failure associated with myocardial infarction leads to architectural changes in the spared nonischemic portion of the ventricular wall, large infarcts were produced in rats, and the animals were killed 2 days after surgery. Left ventricular end-diastolic pressure was increased, whereas left ventricular dP/dt and systolic pressure were decreased, indic...
full textEffect of exercise training and L-arginine supplementation on oxidative stress and left ventricular function in rats with myocardial infarction
Introduction: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of exercise training and L-arginine supplementation on oxidative stress and systolic ventricular function in rats with myocardial infarction (MI). Methods: Four weeks after the surgically-induced MI, 40 male Wistar rats were randomly assigned to the following 4 groups (n=10): MI-sedentary control (Sed) MI-exercise (Ex) MI-...
