Cost Analysis of Fuzzy Queuing Systems

Authors

Abstract:

Regarding the fact that getting a suitable combination of the human resources and service stations is one of the important issues in the most service and manufacturing environments, In this paper, we have studied the two models of planning queuing systems and its effect on the cost of the each system by using two fuzzy queuing models of M/M/1 and M/E2/1. In the first section, we have compared two different fuzzy queuing models based on the costs of each model and fuzzy ranking methods are used to select optimal model due to the resulted complexity. This paper results in a new approach for comparing different queuing models in the fuzzy environment (regarding the obtained data from the real conditions) that it can be more effective than deterministic queuing models. Also a sensitivity analysis is carried out to help the decision maker in selecting the optimal model. Keywords: Cost Analysis, Fuzzy Queuing Systems, Fuzzy Ranking Methods

Stochastic extension of cellular manufacturing systems: a queuing-based analysis

Clustering parts and machines into part families and machine cells is a major decision in the design of cellular manufacturing systems which is defined as cell formation. This paper presents a non-linear mixed integer programming model to design cellular manufacturing systems which assumes that the arrival rate of parts into cells and machine service rate are stochastic parameters and descri...

Sensitivity Analysis of Low Cost Fuzzy Controlled Servo Systems

The paper performs the sensitivity analysis with respect to the parametric variations of the controlled plant in the case of low cost fuzzy control systems dedicated to servo systems, with focus on solving the tracking control problem for a class of wheeled mobile robots with two degrees of freedom used in mining technologies. A new development method for Takagi-Sugeno PI-fuzzy controllers is p...

Fuzzy Queuing Approach for Designing Multi Supplier Systems (Case: SAPCO Company)

The importance of reliable supply is increasing with supply chain network extension and just-in-time (JIT) production. Just in time implications motivate manufacturers towards single sourcing, which often involves problems with unreliable suppliers. If a single and reliable vendor is not available, manufacturer can split the order among the vendors in order to simultaneously decrease the supp...

POTENTIAL ENERGY BASED STABILITY ANALYSIS OF FUZZY LINGUISTIC SYSTEMS

This paper presents the basic concepts of stability in fuzzy linguistic models. Theauthors have proposed a criterion for BIBO stability analysis of fuzzy linguistic modelsassociated to linear time invariant systems [25]-[28]. This paper presents the basic concepts ofstability in the general nonlinear and linear systems. This stability analysis method is verifiedusing a benchmark system analysis.

Performance Analysis of Two Priority Queuing Systems in Tandem

In this paper, we consider a tandem of two head-of-line (HOL) non-preemptive priority queuing systems, each with a single server and a deterministic service-time. Two classes of traffic are considered, namely high priority and low priority traffic. By means of a generating function approach, we present a technique to derive closed-form expressions for the mean buffer occupancy at each node and ...

Fuzzy Guaranteed Cost Control for Fuzzy Time Delay Systems ?

Based on T-S fuzzy model, the guaranteed cost control problem of a class of uncertain nonlinear systems with input and state time delay is discussed. By constructing state-feedback controller, a sufficient condition that for the given performance index and control law, the closed-loop system is quadratic guaranteed cost stable is presented and expressed in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI...
