Abstract:

Supply chain coordination has become a critical success factor for supply chain management (SCM). In the past few years, the researchers have widely emphasized that cooperation among supply chain (SC) firms is a key source of competitive advantage. This paper is focused on supply chain coordination from the perspective of inventory management. Li and Liu [1] developed a model for illustrating how to use quantity discount policy by price adjustment mechanism to achieve supply chain coordination. We extend this mechanism to three echelon supply chain and consider variable lead time which has more &#10&#10representation of the real world situation. For this purpose, we will develop a model with benefit objective function for the problem. We will then analyze the model with and without coordination. By solving the proposed model, proper order quantities will be obtained. Finally, the advantages of the proposed mechanism will be explored and a surplus benefit dividing method will be designed.&#10

Supplier Selection in Three Echelon Supply Chain & Vendor Managed Inventory Model Under Price Dependent Demand Condition

This paper, considers the supplier selection in three echelon supply chain with Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) strategy under price dependent demand condition. As there is a lack of study on the supplier selection in VMI literature, this paper presents a VMI model in supply chain including multi supplier, one distributer and multi retailer that distributer selects suppliers. Two class models (t...

Coordinating a Two-echelon Supply Chain through Different Contracts under Price and Promotional Effort-dependent Demand

Retail price and promotional effort are two important parameters on which demand of a commodity largely depends. This paper develops and analyzes a two-echelon supply chain where market demand depends on both retail price and sales effort. The centralized model is studied as the benchmark case, and the wholesale price-only contract is studied as the base case in which each entity tries to maxim...

Coordinating Orders in Supply Chains Through Price Discounts

In this paper, we examine the issue of order coordination between a supplier and multiple retailers in a decentralized multi-echelon inventory/distribution system where the supplier provides a product to multiple retailers who experience static demand and standard inventory costs. Specifically, we propose and analyze a new policy where a manufacturer, who outsources production to an OEM, offers...

Coordinating orders in a two echelon supply chain with controllable lead time and ordering cost using the credit period

In this research, a coordination mechanism based on a credit period in a two echelon supply chain with one buyer and one supplier, is designed. The buyer is faced with uncertain demand by coping with normal distribution. Both lead time and ordering cost for receiving his order can be reduced at an added cost; in other words, they are controllable. The optimization models with and without integr...

Coordinating a Two-Echelon Supply Chain under Carbon Tax

In this paper, we study the impact of carbon tax on carbon emission and retail price in a two-echelon supply chain consisting of a manufacturer and a retailer. Specifically, by adopting two types of contracts, i.e., the modified wholesale price (MW) and the modified cost-sharing contract (MS), supply chain coordination is achieved, which promotes the supply chain efficiency. Our study shows tha...
