Abstract:

Crystallographic data analyses indicate that  three types of prolinium cations, along with two types of hydrogen  bonding,  produce and stabilize the helical structure of  triprolinium 12-phosphomolybdate. There are similarities between this organic-inorganic compound and peptides/proteins. The stronger “conventional” hydrogen bonds and the less common C-H…O attractions play critical roles in generating and stabilizing the DNA-like network

The inorganic–organic hybrid material triethylenetetrammonium hexachloridorhodate(III) chloride

SINGLE CRYSTALS OF THE NEW TITLE COMPOUND [SYSTEMATIC NAME: 1,4,7,10-tetra-zoniadecane hexa-chloridorhodate(III) chloride], [H(3)N(CH(2))(2)NH(2)(CH(2))(2)NH(2)(CH(2))(2)NH(3)][RhCl(6)]Cl, were obtained from the corresponding amine and rhodium trichloride in hydro-chloric acid solution by slow crystallization under diffusion-controlled conditions at room temperature. Its solid-state structure i...

Effect of organic modifiers on the thermo-optic characteristics of inorganic–organic hybrid material films

The thermo-optic coefficient (dn/dT) of inorganic–organic hybrid material films prepared by the sol-gel process of organoalkylsilanes is measured using a prism coupler equipped with a hot stage. The effect of the organic modifier on the variation of dn/dT in inorganic–organic hybrid material films has been investigated. The value of dn/dT becomes more negative with increasing molecular weight o...

A two-dimensional organic–inorganic hybrid compound, poly[(ethylenediamine)tri-μ-oxido-oxidocopper(II)molybdenum(VI)]

A new organic-inorganic two-dimensional hybrid compound, [CuMoO(4)(C(2)H(8)N(2))], has been hydro-thermally synthesized at 443 K. The unit cell contains layers composed of CuN(2)O(4) octa-hedra and MoO(4) tetra-hedra. Corner-sharing MoO(4) and CuN(2)O(4) polyhedra form CuMoO(4) bimetallic sites that are joined together through O atoms, forming an edge-sharing Cu(2)Mo(2)O(4) chain along the c ax...
