Abstract:

this study was a clinical trial performed using consecutive method of samplind for 3.5 years in the physiotherapy clinic of Rafsanjan university of medocal sciences.the purpose of this research was to evaluate the effect of the ultrasound along with muscle stretch with ultrasound and muscle stretch along in the treatment of the myofascial trigger points(MTPs).one haundred and twenty patients who were afflicted with MTP of trapezius muscle were divided into four groups randomly(30 in each group) of which the 4 th group was a control.treatment was done in 10 sessions.the assessment of pain was done during 1st,5th and 10 th sessions.treatment methods that were impiied included ultra sound,mucle stretch,and a combination of both.the intensity of pain was evaluated at day 1,5,10 and also 10 days after the treatment.the results of this study showed that both methods of ultrasound along with muscle stretch and ultrasound along can be effective in the relief of local pain,redicular pain,removing of muscle tentse band,and improvment in movement,but ultrasound along with muscle stretch is more effctive than ultrasound and muscle stretch along(p<0.0001).in conclusion,it could be recommended that ultrasound together with muscle stretch  be used in the treatment of myofascial trigger points(MTPs).
