Co(II) AND Cu(II) - PROMOTED BASE HYDROLYSIS OF 2-CYANO-l, lO-PHENANTHROLINE

Authors: not saved
Abstract:

Co(II) and Cu(II) promoted base hydrolysis of 2-cyano, 1, lO-phenanthroline was studied. At 298.2°K, Cu(II) reaction is more efficient (by a factor of 20) than either Co(ll) and its analogues Ni(II) in promoting base hydrolysis.

Hydrolysis of GTP on elongation factor Tu.ribosome complexes promoted by 2'(3')-O-L-phenylalanyladenosine.

In the presence of Escherichia coli ribosomes and elongation factor EF) Tu, 2'(3')-O-L-phenylalanyladenosine (AdoPhe), the 3'-terminal portion of Phe-tRNAPhe, promotes the hydrolysis of GTP. The reaction requires the presence of both 30S and 50S ribosomal subunits and of proteins L7/L12 on the 50S subunit, is unaffected by mRNA [poly(uridylic acid)], and is strongly stimulated by EF-Ts. It is p...

1,3,5-Triaryl 2-pyridylidene: base-promoted generation and complexation.

We herein report a base-promoted generation of sterically hindered 1,3,5-triaryl 2-pyridylidene from the corresponding pyridinium salt. The thus-generated 2-pyridylidene was trapped by S(8) and Me(2)SAuCl to form 2-pyridinethione and a 2-pyridylidene-gold(I) complex, respectively. Rearrangement of pyridylidene to pyrido[1,2-a]indole indicates high reactivity of the carbene center of 2-pyridylid...

2-Cyano-2-methylpropanamide

In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(5)H(8)N(2)O, mol-ecules are linked via pairs of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers. These dimers are linked via pairs of N-H⋯H hydrogen bonds into zigzag chains propagating along [101].

Photocytotoxicity and DNA cleavage activity of L-arg and L-lys Schiff base oxovanadium(IV) complexes having phenanthroline bases.

Oxovanadium(IV) complexes [VO(sal-argH)(B)]Cl (1-3) and [VO(sal-lysH)(B)]Cl (4-6), where sal-argH2 and sal-lysH2 are N-salicylidene-L-arginine and N-salicylidene-L-lysine Schiff bases and B is a phenanthroline base, viz. 1,10-phenanthroline (phen in 1 and 4); dipyrido[3,2-d:2',3'-f]quinoxaline (dpq in 2 and 5) and dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine (dppz in 3 and 6), have been prepared, character...

Intramolecular general base catalyzed ester hydrolysis. The hydrolysis of 2-aminobenzoate esters.

Rate constants have been obtained for the hydrolysis of the trifluoroethyl, phenyl, and p-nitrophenyl esters of 2-aminobenzoic acid at 50 degrees C in H(2)O. The pseudo-first-order rate constants, k(obsd), are pH independent from pH 8 to pH 4 (the pK(a) of the amine group conjugate acid). The 2-aminobenzoate esters hydrolyze with similar rate constants in the pH-independent reactions, and these...
