Abstract:

Abstract Reactive soft tissue lesions are common in the oral cavity. These lesions usually occur as a painless non-neoplastic proliferation. Surgical excision of these lesions will cause aesthetic and mucogingival problems in the area. In this case, a prominent lesion in the anterior maxilla of a 40-year-old woman had recurred after two years. Surgical treatment was performed with complete excision of the lesion, curettage and reconstruction by free gingival graft.

Soft Tissue Reconstruction with Free Gingival Graft Technique following Excision of a Fibroma

Background. Oral fibromas are benign, asymptomatic, smooth surfaced, firm structured tumoral lesions that originate from gingival connective tissue or periodontal ligament. Histologically, they are nodular masses characterized by a dense connective tissue, surrounded by stratified squamous epithelium. Case Report. This case report includes the clinical, radiographical, and histological findings...

Peripheral Ossifying Fibroma - Case Report

Gingival overgrowth is one of most frequently encountered lesion of oral cavity. Most of them are innocuous and arise due to localised irritation. They are termed broadly as “Epulis”. Peripheral ossifying fibroma is one of them with considerable variation regarding its nomenclature and etiopathogenesis. This case report presented 27 years old male with gingival overgrowth in maxillary anterior ...

Peripheral cemento-ossifying fibroma--a case report.

Peripheral cemento-ossifying fibroma (PCOF) is a relatively common gingival growth of a reactive rather than neoplastic nature whose pathogenesis remains uncertain. It predominantly affects adolescent & young adults with greater prevalence around 28 years. We report in this study, the clinical case of a 47-year-old female patient who was asymptomatic, with the disease duration of 2 years and wa...

Peripheral Ossifying Fibroma: a Clinical Case Report

Introduction Gingival growths are one of the most frequently encountered lesions in the oral cavity. Most of these lesions, such as irritational fibroma, pyogenic granuloma, peripheral ossifying fibroma and peripheral giant cell granuloma, are innocuous and rarely present with aggressive features. In majority of cases, these lesions are the result of trauma or chronic irritation. One of the inf...

Commonly used synonyms for POF include calcifying fibroblastic granuloma, peripheral fibroma with calcification, peripheral cementifying fibroma, and calcifying or ossifying fibrous epulis.
