Abstract:

Caffeine loaded magnetic nanoparticle was successfully synthesized and were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The resulting nanocomposite is shown to be an efficient catalyst in Knoevenagel condensation of various aldehydes under ultrasound irradiation.

Fe3O4@ZIF-8: magnetically recoverable catalysts by loading Fe3O4 nanoparticles inside a zinc imidazolate framework.

A simple methodology for encapsulating ca. 10 nm-sized superparamagnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles in zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIF-8) crystals was developed. The corresponding Fe3O4@ZIF-8 heterostructured material exhibits bifunctional properties with both high magnetization (Fe3O4) and high thermal stability, large specific surface, and catalytic properties (ZIF-8). The Fe3O4@ZIF-8 catalyst ...

Magnetically recoverable SiO2-coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles: a new platform for asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of aromatic ketones in aqueous medium.

A magnetically recoverable chiral rhodium catalyst exhibited excellent catalytic activity and enantioselectivity in asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of aromatic ketones in aqueous medium, which could be recovered easily via a small magnet and used repetitively ten times without obviously affecting its enantioselectivity.

BaO/TiO2-ZrO2 as a green and efficient basic catalyst for Knoevenagel condensation reaction

A simple and green synthetic strategy to prepare BaO/TiO2-ZrO2 as a solid base catalyst was reported. These materials with various amounts of BaO were prepared by the adsorption method. The physical and chemical properties of BaO/TiO2-ZrO2 were investigated by X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, specific surface area and BJH pore size distribution, FT-IR spectroscopy, scanning electron micro...

An efficient synthesis of 5-alkylthio and 5-arylthiotetrazoles using Fe3O4 nanoparticles as a magnetically recoverable and reusable catalyst

The 5-alkylthio and 5-arylthiotetrazoles were efficiently synthesized from thiocyanates using Fe3O4 nanoparticles as a magnetically recoverable and reusable catalyst. The main advantages allocated to this method are elimination of hydrazoic acid as a dangerous and harmful reagent, high yields and ease of product isolation. The catalyst can be simply recovered by an external magnet and reused wi...

Boric Acid-Functionalized Fe3O4@SiO2 as a Novel Superparamagnetically Recoverable Nano Catalyst for Mukaiyama-Aldol Reaction

We have reported the fabrication of boric acid incorporated into surface of magnetite nanoparticles. The catalyst was characterized using spectroscopic, magnetic and thermal techniques (FT-IR, SEM, XRD, ICP, VSM and TGA). It catalyzed Mukaiyama aldol reaction of a ketene silyl acetal type nucleophile ((1-methoxy-2-methylprop-1-enyloxy) trimethylsilane), and various aldehydes (aromatic, aliphati...
