BOSE-EINSTEIN CORRELATIONS IN PION PRODUCTION AT TRISTAN
Authors: not saved
Abstract:
Measurement of Bose-Einstein correlations in the production of like-signed pion pairs has been made with the AMY detector at TRISTAN. An event sample of 10120 hadronic events with ranging between 50 to 61 GeV was used. These measurements indicate a strength of the enhancement of ? = 0.61M.07, with a typical correlation size of Ro = 1.16±.08 fm. This value of ? is consistent with measurements at lower energies; however, Ro is somewhat larger than lower energy results have indicated

full textBose - Einstein Correlations of Pion
A wavepacket model for a system of free pi-ons, which takes into account the full permutation symmetry of the wavefunction and which is suitable for any phase space parametrization is developed. The properties of the resulting mixed ensembles and the two-particle correlation function are discussed. A physical interpretation of the chaoticity as localization of the pions in the source is present...

The pion Bose-Einstein correlation parameters determined by OPAL show a weak dependence on pion multiplicity. We argue that the observed increase of the interaction radius, and the decrease of the chaoticity parameter could be due to an increasing fraction of other mesons at high multiplicities. Presented here is an overview of studies of the manifestations of the Bose-Einstein correlations in the hadronic decays of Z boson, performed by the LEP experiments. The scope of the overview is con ned to studies of twoand three-particle correlation functions for charged pions, with emphasis on analyses of transverse mass mT and directional dependence of the two-particle correlation function p...
