Abstract:
Bhaskar's Views on Transcendental-Critical Research in Education M. Poorkarimi, Ph.D. A.R. Saadeghzaadeh, Ph.D. K. Baagheri, Ph.D. M. Mehrmohammadi, Ph.D. To explain Bhaskar's views on the very essence of transcendental-critical research and the way it can be conducted in the field of education a deductive approach is taken. This type of research assumes a structured universe explorable through human activity, including critical reviews of structures, mechanisms, and limiting views with the purpose of bringing about positive change. Interdisciplinary research can explain structures and mechanisms as it explores the role of multiple levels of structures and their mechanisms in bringing about events. The research process includes stages of description, abstraction, and explanation of significant structures with regard to both internal and external factors. Eventually, the knowledge so acquired is used to critically view, and correct, the limiting elements. Interdisciplinary research in education using the transcendental-critical approach can be the basis for educational policy. Key words: transcendental-critical research, Interdisciplinary research, education, Roy Bhaskar
