Architecture Narration: A Comparative Study on Narration in Architecture and Story
Authors
Abstract:
The way architects think about different issues from developing plans, perspectives, and views to cross-sections and structure of a building is a common and general one. Regardless of its merits and efficiency, this way of thinking indicates a degradation in architectural thinking. Indeed, architectures today are caught in a specific architecture language where the boundaries of language create boundaries in the architecture’s world. To step beyond the normal language in architecture, the narration techniques of meta-story text can be used to break the elements of architecture and rebuilt them along new axes. The study is an attempt to change the normal language in architecture design and achieve a new way of facing architectural issues based on the concepts of meta-story. The architecture that we try to achieve is the one that motivates users to explore, move, interact, think, or play. A sort of architecture the spatial narration of which is completed by and whose wider narration is formed by the users. Moreover, each user may have his own interpretation. The study was carried out as a content analysis study based on a comparative and innovative study where a combination of deduction and induction was used. The researcher tried to survey the concepts of meta-story and the relationship between story and the spatial narration of architecture. Throughout the study, different types of structure of narration using the similarities between the two ,fields were examined and a new structure for architecture design was achieved. The surveys uncovered a mutual bond between architecture and narration. The structure of post-modern stories featured with parallel and interactive narrations was compared with the structure of designing method in architecture. Through this, the techniques and structure of narration in meta-story text can be used to achieve creativity in designing method.

Automated Scoring of Picture-based Story Narration
This work investigates linguistically motivated features for automatically scoring a spoken picture-based narration task. Specifically, we build scoring models with features for story development, language use and task relevance of the response. Results show that combinations of these features outperform a baseline system that uses state of the art speechbased features, and that best results ar...

The paper is analyzing how people in late modern society characterized by detraditionalization, use moving images as a cultural resource for the construction of meaningful subjective world views. As a theoretical concept with several dimensions, “sacralization of the self” (Woodhead & Heelas 2000: 344), is related to media theory. With a critical focus on ‘the self’, as a core aspect in contemp...
full textAutomatic Validation of Protocol Narration
We perform a systematic expansion of protocol narrations into terms of a process algebra in order to make precise some of the detailed checks that need to be made in a protocol. We then apply static analysis technology to develop an automatic validation procedure for protocols. Finally, we demonstrate that these techniques suffice for identifying a number of authentication flaws in symmetric ke...
full textComparative Study of Aquinas and Kant‘s Narration of Ethics and Theology
Since Kant is a son of his time, his thought is originally rooted in the Enlightenment. The distinction between theoretical and practical reason, formal and material conscientiousness, authentic and doctrinal theodicy, sincerity and falsehood, and finally, historical and moral faith religion, are implications of the court held by Kant for metaphysics. Meanwhile, Kantian distinction between deis...

This article analyses the use of film style in Rashomon (1950) to determine if the different accounts of the rape and murder provided by the bandit, the wife, the husband, and the woodcutter are formally distinct by comparing shot length data and using multiple correspondence analysis to look for relationships between shot scale, camera movement, camera angle, and the use of point-of-view shots...
