Application of Displacement Map Produced by Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar Technique in Height Datum Determination in the Subsidence Area

Authors

Abstract:

Damages due to subsidence such as destruction of watering system and agricultural fertile soil, wells increasing, damage to the roads, bridges and high ways and disordering in the water and gas supplying usually are irreparable and costly. As a huge amount bench marks of height network of Iran are placed in the subsidence area, changing their heights is a challenge for NCC. In this study, a new application of displacement map produced by interferometric synthetic aperture radar technique in height datum determination in the subsidence area of Tehran, Qom and Isfahan provinces is introduced. Leveling observation of these areas is confirmed this application of InSAR.

Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar

This paper provides a brief review of interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR), its history, the theory, and design / implementation / processing issues. Along-track, single-pass and repeat-pass cross-track interferometry are reviewed. Specific topics addressed include error sources and phase-unwrapping techniques. Several examples of InSAR applications are presented. Introduction For y...

derivation of the complete (3d) displacement field using interferometric synthetic aperture radar (sar) technique; case study on the bam fault

investigation and monitoring of the displacement field derived from deformation is among the important studies in earth science and geophysics topics, which plays a main role in the prevention and praxeology of natural disasters such as earthquake, subsidence, land slide et cetera. here we can mention the several methods in geodetic measurement and deformation monitoring such as spirit leveling...

Interferometric synthetic-aperture radar (InSAR)

Geodesists are, for the most part, a patient and hardworking lot. A day spent hiking to a distant peak, hours spent waiting for clouds to clear a lineof-sight between observation points, weeks spent moving methodically along a level line – such is the normal pulse of the geodetic profession. The fruits of such labors are all the more precious because they are so scarce. A good day spent with an...

An Interferometric Technique for Synthetic Aperture Ground-Penetrating Radar

-Many synthetic aperture radar (SAR) algorithms for ground-penetrating radar involve making measurements along a single path and using the collected data to form a twodimensional image of the scattering object. In the calculation of these images, certain assumptions are made about the scattering objects; mainly, that the reflections are occurring directly below the antenna location, which is no...

The Object Detection Efficiency in Synthetic Aperture Radar Systems

The main purpose of this paper is to develop the method of characteristic functions for calculating the detection characteristics in the case of the object surrounded by rough surfaces. This method is to be implemented in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems using optimal resolution algorithms. By applying the specified technique, the expressions have been obtained for the false alarm and cor...

Study of subsidence of Abarkooh plain of Yazd using the Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry method

Abstract The population growth, the development of cities, industry, agriculture, and improper use of resources especially non-renewable resources have led human beings to face the danger of running out of resources. In some cases, in addition to the above, irreversible environmental and geological hazards have occurred due to the overdrawn of resources. Over extraction of groundwater resourc...
