ANALYSIS OF SOME MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF DILUTED MAGNETIC SEMICONDUCTORS
Authors: not saved
Abstract:
The susceptibility and specific heat experimental results of the diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS) are incorporated in a model based on short-range as well as long-range interaction in a random may of magnetic ions. The so-called nearestneighbor pair approximation (NNPA) is applied. It appears that the calculated values of zero field specific heat and Curie-Weiss temperature based on the model calculation are in good agreement with experimental results

Transport and magnetic properties of the diluted magnetic semiconductors
We report on electrical transport and magnetic properties of quaternary single crystals of Sb 1.98–x V 0.02 Cr x Te 3 and Sb 1.984–y V 0.016 Mn y Te 3 with x ranging from 0 to 0.022 and y ranging from 0 to 0.034 over temperatures from 2 K to 300 K. Ternary crystals Sb 2–z V z Te 3 were reported to have rather small magnetization in the ferromagnetic state due to low spin of vanadium ions. There...
full textPart II Diluted Magnetic Semiconductors First-Principles Study of the Magnetism of Diluted Magnetic Semiconductors
We report the density-functional-theory calculations of the exchange interactions and Curie temperature for a series of III-V and II-VI diluted magnetic semiconductors. We focus the discussion on the role of the holes in the establishing the ferromagnetic order in various systems. We suggest a method of the quantitative characterization of the properties of the holes. It is shown that there are...
full textTheory of Ferromagnetism in Diluted Magnetic Semiconductors
Carrier-induced ferromagnetism has been observed in several (III,Mn)V semiconductors. We review the theoretical picture of these ferromagnetic semiconductors that emerges from a model with kinetic-exchange coupling between localized Mn spins and valence-band carriers. We discuss the applicability of this model, the validity of a mean-field approximation for its interaction term widely used in t...

The magnetic susceptibility of the diluted magnetic Lu22xGdxO3 ~x50.06, 0.10, 0.22, 0.40, 1.00, 1.40, 1.80! was measured in the temperature range 1.7–295 K. The inverse susceptibility changes slope to a smaller value below 2.2 K for the samples with x<0.40. In the cubic Lu0.20Gd1.80O3 the slope increases below 2.8 K. These changes are attributed to the large difference in susceptibility for two...
full textQuantum Transport in Diluted Magnetic Semiconductors
The chapter highlights selected electric charge transport phenomena studied recently in low dimensional structures of DMSs. The first part describes transport phenomena related to the quantum interference of scattered electron waves in diffusive transport regime at the boundary of metalinsulator transition. The second part is devoted to Landau quantization of electronic states, as quantum Hall ...
full textCoherently photoinduced ferromagnetism in diluted magnetic semiconductors.
Ferromagnetism is predicted in undoped diluted magnetic semiconductors illuminated by intense sub-band-gap laser radiation. The mechanism for photoinduced ferromagnetism is coherence between conduction and valence bands induced by the light which leads to an optical exchange interaction. The ferromagnetic critical temperature T(C) depends both on the properties of the material and on the freque...
