An overview of diary research methods

Abstract:

The diary research method is one of the types of qualitative research that is different in context and over time due to its capacity to record the desired phenomena on a regular basis. This method, like other qualitative methods, is flexible and can be tailored to different research questions. The tendency of contemporary research is to study the feeling and perceptions of popular culture and the discourse of the humanities, which are overlap with the perspectives of diary studies. Now with the growth of new media and digital technology and the explosion of online attention to peoplechr('39')s lives, this method is expanding. This paper will introduce the method of diary method, its background, and methods of data collection, goals, data analysis, and ethical considerations in order to provide a basis for using this method.
