Abstract:

An efficient synthesis of vinylphosphonates is described. This involves the reaction of alkyl cyanoformates and dialkyl acetylendicarboxylates in the presence of trialkyl phosphites. The 1H, 13C NMR, and 31P NMR spectra of vinylphosphonates having different substitution are consistent with the presence of two geometrical isomers.

An Efficient Synthesis of Arylated Pyridines from Conjugated Acetylenes and Substituted Benzylamines Catalyzed by Base.

An efficient base-catalyzed synthesis of arylated pyridines has been disclosed. This reaction involving conjugated acetylenes and substituted benzylamines proceeded smoothly, giving rise to tri-aryl substituted pyridines which are biologically relevant compounds in good to excellent yields in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) under air at 140 °C with K₂CO₃ as catalyst.

One-pot synthesis of functionalized thiazolidine-4-ones from thiosemicarbazone derivatives and activated acetylenes in water as a green solvent

Some 2-iminothiazolidin-4-ones have been synthesized by the reaction of dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates with thiosemicarbazones. The reaction was performed in the presence of 10 mol% of triphenylphosphine and tetrabutylammonium bromide as a phase transfer catalyst in water as a green solvent. All the synthesized compounds were characterized by their physical and spectral data.
