Abstract:

In this investigation, Nano silica chloride (nano SiO2Cl) has been found to be efficient, chemoselective and recyclable catalyst for facile and simple synthesis of germinal diacetates from aromatic and heteroaromatic aldehydes in shorter reaction durations. The products were obtained in high to excellent yields. This work consistently has the advantages of excellent yields, short reaction time, mild condition and work-up procedures. This method might be useful in the future for the preparation of similar derivatives.

An Efficient Method for the Chemoselective Synthesis of Acylals from Aromatic Aldehydes Using Bismuth Triflate

Aromatic aldehydes are smoothly converted into the corresponding acylals in good yields in the presence of 0.10 mol% Bi(OTf)3oxH20. Ketones are not affected under the reaction conditions. The highly catalytic nature of bismuth triflate and the fact that it is relatively non-toxic, easy to handle and insensitive to small amounts of air and moisture makes this procedure especially attractive for ...

Dipyridine cobalt chloride as an efficient and chemoselective catalyst for the synthesis of 1,1-diacetates under solvent-free conditions

1,1-Diacetates(acylals) were prepared by direct condensation of various aldehydes with acetic anhydride using dipyridine cobalt chloride (CoPy2Cl2) as an efficient and green catalyst under solvent-free conditions at room temperature. The important features of this catalyst method are that the catalyst is solid, stable at high temperatures, soluble in water, stable in air, immiscible in common o...
